Are you after a super-automatic espresso machine that can do everything for you without costing an arm and a leg? My comparison of the Jura E6 vs DeLonghi Dinamica Plus has got you covered.
The DeLonghi Dinamica Plus has many features of a high-end model despite its mid-range price tag, such as a long list of drinks, various settings, the ability to be controlled remotely, and more. This one even has an iced coffee function, a luxury typically only available with a much higher-priced machine like the Jura Z10.
The Jura E6 is indeed a high-quality espresso machine that can make the coffee brewing process a lot easier and more enjoyable. It offers numerous one-touch specialties and a bunch of advanced features to serve you delicious caffeinated drinks without requiring any specialized knowledge or skills.

Jura E6 Vs DeLonghi Dinamica Plus: Differences
DeLonghi Dinamica Plus beats the Jura E6 with a score of 3-1. Keep reading my detailed comparison to choose the one that suits you best!
Coffee Flavour
Winner: DeLonghi Dinamica Plus
Built-in Grinder
Like many other automatic espresso machines, Both feature a stainless steel conical burr grinder to crush the coffee beans right inside the machine. So you don’t need to spend time and money buying a separate grinder. The Jura E6 is equipped with patented Aroma G3 technology, which is really a game changer here.
I found the Aroma G3 grinder to operate significantly faster and quieter compared to standard stainless steel grinders, enhancing the overall coffee-making experience. That means you can have a tasty cup of coffee without disturbing your children’s sleep. The DeLonghi Dinamica Plus’s grinder was noticeably noisy, so I strongly advise against using it in the early morning, or you’ll start your day with an espresso and a never-ending stream of irate complaints.
Also, Jura claims this type of grinder can achieve an aroma release that is 12% better than conventional grinders. That is great, but I’ll leave the verification of that claim to others.
The Jura E6 has 6 grinding settings, whereas the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus offers up to 13 different grinding levels for advanced flavor customization to suit the roast of your coffee. You can adjust the grind settings by turning a dial on the bean feeder. There are two no-nos that I would like you never to do to avoid jamming the grinder: changing the grind settings when the grinder is inactive and using oil beans.
Heating System
Regarding the heating system, both the Jura E6 vs DeLonghi Dinamica Plus are single-boiler machines with thermoblock technology. So they can’t prepare espresso and steam milk at the same time, as dual-boiler machines can. But this isn’t typically a big con for home users since the quick heat-up time of the thermoblock largely mitigates this issue.
A thermoblock system heats up the water as it passes through the machine instead of keeping a larger batch of water heated continuously in a boiler. That way, it can reach the required temperature in just 20 seconds, offering virtually no waiting time when switching between two processes. Better yet, it cuts down on power consumption and ensures each shot of espresso is made with fresh water, not water that has been sitting in a traditional boiler.
But if you are on the hunt for an espresso machine for your workplace or any other larger setting like coffee shops, bars, and restaurants, it would be prudent to consider a machine with dual boilers. One such model from Jura, such as the Jura Giga 6, is exorbitantly expensive, and if you can’t afford it, there are wallet-friendly alternatives for you to choose from, such as the DeLonghi Eletta or the Saeco Xelsis.
There is a built-in warmer on top of the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus. As its name suggests, it can be used to pre-warm your cups to preserve heat and keep your espresso piping hot.
Brewing System
Both have a “pre-infusion” function or Intelligent Pre-Brew Aroma System (I.P.B.A.S.), as Jura calls it, involving soaking the coffee grounds in hot water before applying full pressure for extraction. The purpose of this process is to ensure that the coffee is evenly moistened, allowing the water to flow evenly through the coffee during extraction. This allows for maximum extraction of the coffee’s aroma and flavors and reduces channeling (which leads to both over-and under-extraction).
Once the grounds have “bloomed” (thanks to the pre-moistening process), the Dinamica Plus extracts the espresso at up to 19 bars of pressure.
On the other hand, the Jura E6 uses a completely new approach to brewing coffee. This one forces hot water through the grounds in short bursts to bring out the full depth of flavors and aromas in optimal extraction time. This is called the Pulse Extraction Process (or P.E.P.), Jura’s patented extraction technology and, in my opinion, the best espresso process currently, setting Jura machines head and shoulders above the competition.
During my tests, the Jura E6 could bring to the table bodied, rich espresso topped with an impressive layer of crema. Some claimed it tasted slightly bland, but I suspect they hadn’t correctly dialed in the grind settings.
Meanwhile, the DeLonghi Dinamica Pluscrema could pull a balanced espresso topped with a thick layer of crema. My only gripe was that it was far too hot to sip straight away, and I had to wait for it to cool down a bit before I could taste it.
Milk Frothing System
These espresso machines have automatic frothing milk systems, simplifying the process of making lattes, cappuccinos, and other milk-based drinks. This makes them perfectly suited for novices and home users with zero barista skills, as they can create a creamy milk foam at the touch of a button. But coffee connoisseurs or professional baristas might prefer a machine with a traditional steam wand that allows for more control over the temperature and texture of the milk.
The Jura E6 features something called HP1 professional fine foam technology, which is quoted as providing delicate milk foam with superfine bubbles. To use it, you will need to attach one end of an included plastic tube to the frother and attach the other end to a milk pitcher. Then this system draws milk directly from the container, heats it, froths it, and dispenses it into your cup.
The thing is that there is no pitcher in the package. You may think this is an undesirable omission by the manufacturer, but in fact, it is standard across all Jura machines. So you will need to supply your own milk container or buy one from Jura. Beyond a basic glass jug, they also offer a cool control unit capable of keeping your milk cooled without needing a refrigerator.
On the other hand, the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus boasts a patented LatteCrema milk frothing system. This is just a thick plastic milk jug that simultaneously heats and froths the milk before dispensing milk foam directly into your cup. Whenever you want to make a milky drink, just attach it to the front of the machine and put it in your fridge the rest of the time to keep the milk fresh.
I really loved this system since it didn’t require buying something separately to hold the milk. The milk pitcher sits neatly on the drip tray, so it takes up no extra space, and no tube or hose is required. There is a big knob on top used to toggle between three levels of milk foam: min, max, and none.
I found both produced thick, frothy milk foam, which is great for a coffee-quality cappuccino, but they couldn’t reach the microfoam level for latte art. This may not be a huge deal-breaker, but die-hard latte lovers will likely be a bit disappointed. Also, there was a loud cloud of steam that initially came out of the Jura E6’s frother and diluted my brewed espresso, which can be uncomfortable for many people.
Design & Usability

Dimensions, Footprint, & Weight
Jura E6 | DeLonghi Dinamica Plus | |
---|---|---|
Dimensions | 11 × 13.8 × 17.6 inches | 9.3 x 14 x 17 inches |
Weight | 20 lbs | 20.9 lbs |
It is no exaggeration to say that all the Jura espresso machines, from entry-level to high-end, are known for the perfect combination of form and function, and the Jura E6 is no exception. This one has a classy, modern design paired with curved lines to give it a softer effect. It has a clear and easy-to-read digital display. I was glad that it was a non-touch display, as I hate leaving my fingerprints on it.
The Dinamica Plus is a box-shaped machine with a simple but attractive design. Like the Jura E6, it’s made mostly of plastic but doesn’t feel flimsy at all. The hi-tech 3.5-inch touchscreen display on top creates an intuitive experience that’s similar to using the screen on your smartphone.
They aren’t surprisingly compact, but I believe finding a proper space to put them on your counter won’t pose a challenge. But if you intend to slot your espresso machine under kitchen cabinets, you should double-check if you have enough clearance, given that they are quite tall and have top-loading bean feeders. They’re also quite heavy, so I guess many hands make light work when it comes to positioning the machine.
Pre-programmed Coffee Options
Jura E6 | DeLonghi Dinamica Plus |
---|---|
Espresso Coffee Caffè Barista Americano Macchiato Cappuccino Cappuccino Extra Shot Portion of milk foam Hot water 2 × Espresso 2 × Coffee | Gourmet Espresso Double Espresso Long Coffee Truebrew Over Ice Coffee Pot Doppio+ Cappuccino Latte Macchiato Milk Cappuccino + Cappuccino Mix Caffelatte Flat White Espresso Macchiato Hot Water |
I was impressed with their long list of pre-programmed drinks, including some of my favorites, including espresso, macchiato, and cappuccino – all are ready to serve with the push of a button. You can even use pre-ground coffee if you find yourself running out of beans.
The “TrueBrew Over Ice” feature on the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus is a fantastic option for those who enjoy iced coffee. I wouldn’t call it “cold brew” technology (which involves steeping coffee grounds in cold water for an extended period of time) because it doesn’t actually make cold coffee itself. It instead pre-infuses the grounds and brews espresso at a lower temperature, resulting in a drink at room temperature. Then you can add some ice cubes or whiskey rocks (a great option to avoid diluting your espresso) to have a flavorful, full-bodied iced coffee.
When it comes to customization, the Jura E6 offers 8 levels of coffee strength and 3 brew temperatures, while the Dinamica Plus has 5 levels of aroma strength and 4 brew temperatures. They also give you the flexibility to adjust the shot length and milk quantity. This versatility enables you to endlessly mix and match until you find the perfect brew tailored to your palate.
Once you’ve found the perfect balance for your morning espresso or your favorite cappuccino, you can save that exact combination of settings to use again with just the touch of a button. The DeLonghi Dinamica Plus has four user profiles to ensure you and others have their own set of personalized coffee recipes saved on the machine. This is a huge convenience in a household with multiple coffee drinkers, each with their own preferences.
Spout & Cup Clearance
Jura E6 | DeLonghi Dinamica Plus | |
---|---|---|
Spout type | Dual | Dual |
Cup Clearance | 2.6–4.4 inches | 3.5-5.5 inches |
The Dinamica Plus’s dual height-adjustable spout can be lifted higher to fit a larger mug or a tall glass for iced coffee. Meanwhile, the Jura E6’s spigot can be lowered closer to the cup to minimize disruption to the lovely crema layer and prevent splashing.
Their double shout feature can make an extra strong cup or two cups of black coffee at the same time. This is perfect for those mornings when you need a little extra caffeine boost or when you’re entertaining your guests. Unfortunately, they can only prepare one milk-based drink at a time.
Water Reservoir & Bean Hopper
Jura E6 | DeLonghi Dinamica Plus | |
---|---|---|
Water Reservoir | 1.9 liter | 1.8 liter |
Bean Hopper | 0.29 liter | 0.37 liter |
Their water tanks are quite spacious, so they might not need to be refilled more than once a day. I recommend avoiding leaving water sitting in there for a couple of days at a time. Old water can develop stale or off flavors that can impact the taste of your espresso. You also have the option to install water filters in the reservoirs of both machines (DeLonghi and Clearyl smart water filters).
Utilizing the filter will remove the impurities that cause scale from the water, thereby cutting out the need to regularly descale the machine, ensuring the longevity of your machine, and preserving the taste of your espresso. This incurs a small monthly fee, but if you take the long view, you will find it results in significant savings in terms of descaling expenses and repair costs due to scaling.
Their top-loading bean hoppers have airtight lids. This not only prevents the coffee beans from rapid aroma loss due to air exposure but also minimizes the noise emitted by the grinder.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Winner: DeLonghi Dinamica Plus
Maintenance of a bean-to-cup machine is certainly not as appealing as sipping a delicious espresso or cappuccino, but it is a must-have, so you can enjoy caffeinated beverages for a long time. Thankfully, the Jura E6 vs DeLonghi Dinamica Plus has several automatic cleaning programs to reduce your maintenance burden.
Descaling these machines is a completely automated operation that entails the use of a descaling solution specified by the manufacturer. They’re also programmed to alert you when descaling is needed, walking you through each essential step via their user-friendly display. Want to skip this chore? Using the water filter is your answer.
After each preparation of a milk-based beverage, both run an automatic cleaning cycle to purge potentially residual milk residue. When it comes to deep cleaning, the Jura E6 also relies on an automatic routine and necessitates the use of the Jura milk cleaner system. As for the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus, just take the milk jug out of the machine and rinse it under the tap or put it in your dishwasher.
The DeLonghi Dinamica Plus has my vote this round since it has a removable brew part. It needs to be cleaned manually, but this is the most effective way to enhance the longevity of a brew group.
Utilities & Other Features
Winner: Jura E6
Remote Control
The incorporation of app compatibility, no doubt, is becoming more common in modern espresso machines. Both the Jura E6 vs DeLonghi Dinamica Plus can pair with your smartphone (via the J.O.E. app and DeLonghi Coffee Link app), which is definitely a bonus for a tech-savvy guy. They empower you to remotely choose your drink, make the necessary adjustments, and kick-start the brewing cycle – all without having to touch the machine itself.
The J.O.E. app can work with an Apple Watch, adding another level of convenience to the brewing process. Imagine the convenience of starting your espresso brew right from your wrist as you’re finishing up a morning workout. That is awesome, right? It has the ability to assign Siri shortcuts to your favorite drinks, enabling you to make an order with a command – It is really a game-changer for the visually impaired community.
Sadly, it’s almost impossible to prepare a drink remotely with the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus. You will have to take the milk pitcher out of your refrigerator, attach it to the machine, and select the desired amount of milk froth. After all, when you’re already standing in front of the machine, is there any real need to involve your smartphone?
Auto Off
By activating the automatic switch-off mode, these kitchen appliances will automatically power off after a programmable period ranging from 15 minutes to 3 hours. Who can predict the repercussions of leaving a machine on while far from home?
