DeLonghi Dinamica Plus vs Jura ENA 8: Differences

The DeLonghi Dinamica Plus wins over the Jura ENA 8 with a final score of 3-1. It has greater versatility, more preset drinks, and better milk frothing. It’s more user-friendly with the touchscreen display and the ability to save your customized recipes

1. Coffee Flavor

The Winner: DeLonghi Dinamica Plus

Grinder

The DeLonghi Dinamica Plus has a built-in burr grinder, while the Jura ENA E8 has the Aroma G3 grinder. I found that they both work well, but the first one wins this match because it has more grinding settings.

The Dinamica Plus impressed me with 13 grinding settings, while its counterpart has 7 settings. If your coffee grinder has a higher number of settings, you have a greater degree of control over the coffee’s level of coarseness or fineness.

One thing you must be really careful about when adjusting the grinder’s consistency. You only adjust the grind settings while the grinder is running. The grinder adjustment switch could be damaged if you make any adjustments when it is not running.

What I really like about this De’Longhi machine is when it grinds the coffee beans. They fill the home with a pleasant smell like you’d get in a real café whenever I grind coffee.

In terms of how loud they are when grinding, the Jura E8 is a little bit quieter than the Dinamica Plus. So, you can make tasty coffee without waking up your whole family early morning, while the Dinamica Plus might do that.

Heating System

In contrast to the Jura E8, which only has a single boiler, the Dinamica Plus has two. When it comes to the heating system, having more boilers is almost always better.

We know that the water used to steam milk and brew coffee is at different temperatures. The water needed for these two processes is heated in separate boilers in a dual boiler machine. So the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus is more efficient than the ENA 8, which only has a single boiler. Your entire process will be faster because there has no waiting time between the two processes.

In fact, I expect the DeLonghi with dual boiler will get the milk to a nice hot temperature of at least 180°. But by adding the milk foam or even steamed milk, the cup of coffee ends up being just about 100 and maybe 110 lukewarm. For example, milk for a cappuccino should be between 140 and 150F, but this machine can only get it to 109F. It’s not a big deal if you drink them right away and don’t like super hot coffee.

Bar Pump Pressure

An excellent espresso shot is the outcome of several different systems that interact with one another. One of these factors is the pressure at the bar.

The Dinamica Plus and the Jura E8 each have a bar pressure system, but theirs are different: the Dinamica Plus has 19 bars, while the Jura E8 has 15 bars. It stands to reason that the former would be more productive and competitive at extracting espresso shots that are rich and full-bodied. The robust 19 bars ensure that there will be no loss of pressure during the coffee extraction process.

The 15-bar pressure system is often found in super-automatic machines, especially Jura’s machines (including Jura ENA E8). I believe that it is more than sufficient to brew cups of coffee that are both tasty and robust. In addition, P.E.P technology is built into the ENA E8, which shortens the extraction time and enhances the coffee’s flavor.

In fact, it is difficult for me to differentiate between the results achieved by the different bar pumps. I can only vouch for the fact that both work well.

2. Utilities

The Winner: DeLonghi Dinamica Plus

Programmability And Coffee Specialties

The Dinamica Plus has a total of 16 different coffee drinks that can be made with only one touch. These include all of the classic drinks, such as lattes, espressos, cappuccinos, flat whites, and normal coffee. And it also allows you to get some milk-based drinks like macchiato, cappuccino mix, espresso macchiato, caffe latte, etc, in seconds at the touch of a button.

The Jura ENA 8 also can prepare coffee drinks at the touch of a button. However, the list of pre-programmable beverages on the Jura ENA E8 is slightly shorter, consisting of 10 different kinds of coffee specialties. It includes the cappuccino, flat white, latte, espresso doppio, macchiato, etc. You can adjust these 10 barista-quality drinks with coffee strength, temperature, grind size, and volume programmability to your likes.

Therefore, if you are looking for a machine with greater versatility and more preset drinks, you can’t go wrong with the Dinamica Plus. We could not be happier with this machine since I love espresso, and my wife loves coffee drinks with milk. This is a great machine that saves us trips to the coffee shop.

Save Personal Profiles

You can save 3 user profiles and 1 guest profile on the Dinamica Plus.
You can save 3 user profiles and 1 guest profile on the Dinamica Plus.

Today’s super automatics often have the ability to save personal profiles, and the Dinamica Plus is no exception. You can save 3 different user profiles and 1 guest profile on the Dinamica Plus. The Jura ENA 8 does not come equipped with this function.

So, three is always better than none. Who wouldn’t want to keep their go-to coffee recipe after making all the necessary tweaks to their liking, right?

In addition to that, the Dinamica Plus features a Smart One-touch system. This intelligent system will recognize your preferences and the beverages you choose most frequently and list those beverages as first on display. It really saves me a lot of time.

Interface

The Dinamica Plus features an easy-to-read TFT display panel that is 3.5 inches in size. As a result of its touch feature, it is both responsive and straightforward to program. Some touchscreens can be either too sensitive or not sensitive enough. I have the impression that this one is normal; it’s the kind of thing I’d compare to something like my iPad or my iPhone. It does not seem particularly sensitive to your fingers, at least not to me. I also don’t think you have to touch it multiple times for it to brew.

The Jura E8, on the other hand, features a TFT color display, which contributes to the machine’s elegant design and makes it a pleasure to use. However, many users complained that Jura ENA 8 is less responsive and has a smaller display (around 2.8 inches). Moreover, getting used to the buttons may take some time.

3. Milk System

The Winner: DeLonghi Dinamica Plus

DeLonghi Dinamica Plus's milk system
DeLonghi Dinamica Plus’s milk system

The Dinamica Plus has an improved milk spout and a higher frothing capacity than its counterpart. It comes with a thermal milk carafe that enables you to store the milk in the refrigerator when you don’t use it. It can be detached and used separately, which makes this coffee maker easier to use and more convenient.

In addition to that, it includes an automatic cleaning function after each use and offers quick temperature, milk, and foam settings. It heats the milk to a comfortable 133 degrees Fahrenheit, just above lukewarm. For me, that’s fine. The milk also has smooth, creamy, and velvety foam that helps make latte art.

Alternative milk made from plants or nuts can also be used with similar results. Maintaining this system also is a breeze because the display will notify you when it is necessary to clean the milk dial, rinse the spouts, or perform other maintenance tasks.

The Jura ENA 8 also has great automatic cleaning, rinsing and descaling programs. Including a feature that automatically cleans the milk spout to keep it running like new. Its Fine Foam Technology lets you make smooth milk with just one touch. It also works well with nut milk and milk made from plants.

However, some users have said that the milk foam produced by their Jura espresso machine is not as velvety or as “barista-quality” as they had expected. I have the same experience. The machine does not always consistently maintain a high temperature in the milk.

4. Cleaning & Maintenance

The Winner: Jura ENA 8

Size

The Dinamica Plus is the larger espresso machine of the two. So if your kitchen doesn’t have enough room to fit a bulky espresso machine, the Jura ENA 8 is better choice. The Dinamica Plus has a water tank that is 1.8 liters and a bean hopper that is approximately 11.5 ounces in capacity. The high capacity makes cleaning simple and reduces the frequency with which it needs to be refilled.

The Jura ENA 8 comes with a 4.4-ounce bean hopper and a 1L water tank. You can see that it is 0.8L and 7.1oz smaller than the Dinamica Plus’s water tank and bean hopper.

However, this highlights how small and portable the Jura ENA 8 is. Its performance considerably exceeds its size, which means it is a space-saving coffee maker that can fit under any cabinets and in tight corners. It is a super-automatic espresso machine, but it is on the smaller side compared to the ones most people are used to see.

Water Filter

The Jura ENA 8’s cleaning features are superior to those of the Dinamica Plus. The Dinamica Plus comes equipped with some DeLonghi descaling solutions. However, its maintenance features are nothing particularly exceptional; they are just the norm.

The Jura is equipped with a system known as the IWS, which stands for the Intelligent Water System. And it comes equipped with the quick CLEARYL Smart Filter for water filtration. The flavor of the espresso can be vastly improved by removing undesired deposits, including limescale, heavy metals in the water, and other impurities.

DeLonghi Dinamica Plus vs Jura ENA 8: Similarities

Both of these espresso makers are excellent options due to their speed and customization. You can create an amazing variety of coffee beverages and milk frothing, just like you would get from a barista!

Both of these machines have rapid brewing technologies that let you easily adjust the coffee dose, grind size, temperature, strength, and volume, as well as the milk temperature and texture. Therefore, if you are interested in experimenting with different flavors and adjusting the strength of those flavors, you can do it with either the Dinamica Plus or the Jura.

These bean-to-cup espresso machines are simple to operate, convenient, and fully automated in every step of the process, from grinding the beans based on your preferences to pulling a shot and foaming the milk. Automatic cleaning features like self-rinsing, water filtration, descaling, and parts that can be removed make things easier and more home-friendly.
