I’ll help you decide which of the two mid-range Jura machines, Jura Z8 vs ENA 8, is the better option. They’re both the same price and offer some similar features, but I think the Jura E8 is the superior option. Learn the key differences between the Jura Z8 and the ENA 8 to know why you should go for the E8.
Jura Z8 is better in many ways – for design, brewing technique, temperature control, and milk system. The Z8’s 4.3-inch touchscreen display is enticing enough to get you out of bed in the mornings. All 21 different coffee beverages are displayed intuitively on the screen. Moreover, the ability to program and save your drink settings, two boilers, and a customizable milk system make it come out on top.
As a runner-up, Jura ENA 8 is also worth considering. It shares some similar cutting-edge brewing techniques to the Z8, such as the Aroma G3 grinder and PEP. Its milk steamer works automatically that can make an impressive cappuccino. Coffee connoisseurs on a tighter budget may find this an enticing alternative.

Jura Z8 vs ENA 8: Differences
The Jura Z8 defeats the ENA 8 with a score of 3-1. And even though it is a pricey option—twice as expensive as the ENA 8—it is a worthy competitor.
Find out why the Jura Z8 is a better option than the Jura ENA 8 by looking at the differences between the two.
1. Coffee Flavor and Brewing Techniques
The Winner: Jura Z8
+Coffee Drinks
The Jura Z8 comes with an enticing and tasty menu of pre-programmed coffee drinks to choose from. It offers up to 21 different espresso beverages. The truth is that not all coffee shops in your area offer the same variety of beverages.
The Jura ENA 8 includes ten different beverages, each of which may be personalized at the press of a button.
Both have basic coffee drinks. If you are the type who consumes just the most basic beverages, such as espresso, ristretto, coffee, and cappuccino, you are free to select any of the two options. A pot of coffee, a café barista, and long espresso drinks are specialty coffees that ENA 8 lacks but the E8 does have.
+Coffee Personalization

Some members of my household don’t like drinking beverages made using the default settings. Surely each person has their own unique taste and preference.
Luckily, the Z8 lets me program some elements of my coffee beverages and save my own recipe for quick access later. Your espresso can be adjusted to your preferred temperature, strength, and volume.
The ENA 8 has adjustments for temperature, strength, and volume, but it cannot save your settings.
+ Heating system
This match is an easy victory for Jura Z8, which has two Thermoblocks. The Jura Z8 heats up quite fast, and the brewing process and steaming procedure may be controlled separately. Therefore, the coffee is always served at the perfect temperature. Because of this, I’ve never had any issues with this model’s capacity to produce high-quality coffee. My beverage consistently reaches the right temperature and stays that way for a good while.
In contrast, there is only one Thermoblock in the ENA 8. Similar to Z8, it heats up really fast. However, the machine does not have very good control over the temperature. It does not dispense hot coffee, but rather warm coffee and the temperature is approximately 180 degrees Fahrenheit.
The ENA8 is a good choice if you want a tasty coffee to drink immediately. On the other hand, Z8 is ideal if you like your coffee hot and want it to maintain its temperature for a longer time.
2. Milk System
The Winner: Jura Z8
It would appear that the Jura Z8 is also victorious in this round, thanks to the customizable milk frother settings it comes equipped with. Even though both espresso makers include the Fine Foam frothing technology, the Z8’s frothing mechanism offers greater customization than its counterpart. This implies that you have a selection of temperatures and textures of milk from which to choose.
With the Jura Z8, I can now get my favorite milk foam made just as I like it. If I want, my lattes can be prepared with both frothed and steamed milk.
3. Utilities
The Winner: Jura Z8
+Automatic Shut-Off
In contrast to the ENA 8, the Jura Z8 has a built-in function that automatically turns the device off. To reduce the amount of power that is wasted while the coffee maker is not in use, it is equipped with an automated shutoff timer.
I found this auto shut-off feature is really helpful. When I got up in the morning, the first thing I did was make coffee, and while I was doing that, I would also prepare breakfast. This feature helps me when I am busy with other kitchen appliances and forget to turn the coffee machine off.
+Control Panel

How you use an espresso maker’s coffee features sets the tone for a long time. A touchscreen color display is a godsend for a machine such as the Z8, which features over 20 different coffee varieties, cleaning modes, and personalization options.
In contrast to the ENA 8’s simple TFT display and buttons, which are not in any way inferior, the Z8 appears to have a more streamlined design and is more intuitive to operate.
Both of these machines have user interfaces that are straightforward, instinctive, and responsive. However, the Jura Z8’s display is larger and is a touch screen. The ENA 8 has a smaller display and buttons on either side. Therefore, when used frequently, it can appear a little chaotic.
+Cup Clearance
Cup clearance on the Jura Z8 might be much more flexible and accommodating than on the Jura ENA 8. To begin, the Z8 can do dual brewing, allowing you to pour the espresso into two side-by-side cups simultaneously.
The Z8 features an adjustable spout with a height range of 3.2 inches to 6 inches. The ENA 8 has a height of 2.2 to 5.4 inches range, so there is a little different here.
+Spout
The Jura Z8 is well-known for making great cups of coffee quickly. Because it has a dual spout, this espresso machine can brew coffee for two cups at once, making it ideal for busy families and serving large groups, such as at offices, restaurants, or families with more than three members.
On the other hand, the ENA 8 is a machine with a single spout, meaning you can only brew one cup of coffee at a time with it. It is most suitable for people living alone, in couples, or in small families with no more than three people.
4. Cleaning and Maintenance
The Winner: Jura ENA 8
+Capacity
The water tank size of the Jura Z8 is extremely huge at 2.3 liters, while the water tank capacity of the ENA 8 is significantly smaller (1L). Because of its smaller reservoir tank, the ENA 8 is more lightweight and user-friendly. It is suitable for use in kitchens with limited space and is perfect for satisfying the daily brewing requirements of two to three drinkers.
The Z8 also has a larger bean hopper than the ENA 8, which measures 9.9 ounces compared to 4.4 ounces for the Z8. The former machine can carry up to 20 pucks, but the ENA 8 can only hold 10.

The ENA 8 is an excellent choice for a home coffee center as it efficiently uses space. However, some users have mentioned that it could have been made slightly bigger to accommodate more than just two people. This is where the water tank of 2.3 liters and the bean hopper of 9.9 ounces that come on the Jura Z8 come in helpful.

I am Ralph Mason and I am a passionate coffee drinker. I worked as a barista for a few years and since 2012 I have been trying to convince as many people as possible of good coffee.
I started writing on the barista blog on RepublikCoffeeBar in 2018. It was a pure hobby site and I tested coffee products like coffee machines, beans, mug, and other accessories. After the first year, my blog is becoming a well-known coffee site with about 100 thousand visits per month.
In 2019 I decided to focus on RepublikCoffeeBar only. I became a full-time coffee blogger and was declared crazy by many.
