Jura Ena 8 vs Z6 Review: Is Having A Dual Spout Better Than A Single Spout?

I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post. Read more

Many coffee drinkers find it difficult to choose the right coffee maker for daily home use, as in the Jura ENA 8 vs Z6 debate. While both are great, I believe the Jura Z6 deserves to be the winner.

As a winner, the Jura Z6 has better, more upgraded features than the ENA 8. It allows for a greater variety of adjustments for milk and espresso, and it can even prepare two cups simultaneously. Additionally, the larger water tank, bean hopper, and coffee ground container make it a better option for home use.

It does not imply that Jura ENA 8 is bad for home use. Its compact design will be better for families with no more than 3 coffee drinkers. It also comes with some cutting-edge technologies, like the Jura Z6, to brew high-quality espresso. This could be a good alternative for coffee lovers on a tighter budget.

Jura ENA 8 vs Z6: Differences

The final score was 4-2 in favor of Jura Z6 over Jura ENA 8. It appears to be the winner because it offers more features and is better able to handle espresso features than the ENA 8. This machine’s two brewing spouts and advanced milk system make for more effective brewing.

1. Dose Control

The Winner: Jura Z6

Jura Z6's coffee quality
Jura Z6’s coffee quality

The Jura Z6 supports dual brewing, allowing you to make two shots of espresso in two separate cups at the same time. This means that when you make coffee, you put two espresso cups right next to each other. This type of brewing capacity is not supported by the Jura ENA 8 system. The Jura ENA 8 is a single-serve espresso machine. So you can only brew one espresso drink at a time.

Just think about how annoying it would be if you had to “queue” for your morning coffee every busy morning. When I use Jura Z6, I won’t have to worry about that. Every member of my family always gets their own drink quickly.

Because of this, the dosage amount differs between the two machines, despite the fact that they are both equipped with an Aroma G3 grinder and PEP. The Jura ENA 8 can extract between 6 and 10 grams of espresso, whereas the Z6 can extract anywhere from 5 to 16 grams. With nearly twice as much, the Jura Z6 brews a more robust, aromatic, and full-bodied espresso.

2. Milk System

The Winner: Jura Z6

The Fine Foam frother is a standard feature on both of these espresso makers; however, the Jura Z6 has additional milk settings that are programmable for milk texture and milk temperature. You have 10 different temperature settings to choose from when adjusting the milk’s temperature. This isn’t the case with the Jura ENA 8.

I always desire a hotter cappuccino and lattes with more cream. In this case, I find that the Jura Z6 milk system best suits my needs.

However, this does not imply that the frother on the ENA 8 is lacking in efficiency. It is able to automatically prepare a creamy flat white, cappuccino, and latte macchiato with the same level of efficiency. The Z6 just has an advantage over the ENA 8 due to the additional programmability it offers.

3. Cleaning & Maintenance

The Winner: It’s a Tie

The Jura Z6 has a larger water tank capacity, making it more user-friendly and suitable for daily use. It comes with a 2.4-liter water tank, and its bean hopper holds 10 ounces of coffee. The coffee grounds container will not need to be emptied as frequently because the machine has a ground coffee container that can hold up to 20 pucks. It has a 1L water tank, and a 4.4-ounce bean hopper. The coffee grounds container can only hold 10 pucks.

The Jura ENA 8 is also suitable for daily use in the family. However, I believe that it is only appropriate for families that have no more than 3 coffee drinkers or if your kitchen has limited space. Even if you have a lot of space, you probably don’t want the espresso machine to take up most of it, right?

4. Utilities

The Winner: It’s A Tie!

Cup Clearance

The cup height of Jura Z6 can be adjusted from a minimum of 3.2 inches to a maximum of 6 inches.
The cup height of Jura Z6 can be adjusted from a minimum of 3.2 inches to a maximum of 6 inches.

Regarding adjustable spout height, Jura Z6 and Jura ENA 8 are tied. The ENA 8 has a cup clearance from 2.2 to 5.4 inches, while the Z6 has a cup clearance from 3.2 to 6 inches.

Compared to the ENA 8, the Z6 has a higher cup clearance that allows you to put a taller mug or glass under the spout. On the other hand, the ENA 8 allows you to use a shorter espresso cup without worrying about splatters. Because if you use a smaller espresso cup and pour it from a greater height, it may cause splatters easily.

Jura ENA 8 vs Z6: Similarities

1. Brewing Technology

Both have the Pulse Extraction Processor (PEP), which is a great technology for making espresso at home that is just as rich as espresso made by a manual barista machine. In addition to that, it features a 15-bar pump and Thermoblock technology, both of which ensure accurate temperature control and consistent shot quality.

Moving on, the coffee grinder that comes with both of these machines is the Aroma G3, which has six different settings for the grind’s coarseness. The ENA 8 and Z6 make about the same number of coffee drinks. They both make espresso, coffee, cappuccino, and latte macchiato with just one touch.

2. Control Panel

Both machines include a TFT color display and buttons as standard equipment. The use of this style of interface does not in any way feel cumbersome or out of date. Additionally, the vibrant coffee icons and pre-set settings make it simple for you to select and personalize your coffee beverage without having to guess.

3. Customizations

You can change the temperature of the beverage, the quantity of espresso that is poured into your cup, and the intensity of the coffee with either of the two espresso machines. This means that you can quickly and accurately change the strength of the coffee (by 10 levels), the temperature (by 3 levels), and the amount of espresso you get.

In addition, the Jura ENA 8 and Z6 both come equipped with three different temperature settings for the hot water, which can be used to make beverages such as tea, Americano, and hot chocolate.
