In the match between the Jura E6 vs S8, I believe the Jura S8 is superior to its counterpart. Coffee connoisseurs will more satisfied with the S8 because of its programmability, utilities and milk system.

Jura S8 deserves to become the winner because it is almost always better than Jura E6 in all of the comparing criteria. This one enables users to prepare various types of drinks with both frothed and steamed milk. Besides, its programmability are great for coffee lovers who want to customize to suit the taste. Jura S8’s touchscreen makes doing all this easier and more intuitive.

The Jura E6 is also a good option but it doesn’t provide as much adjustability as the S8 does. It’s basic and works well for making classic coffee drinks like Americano and Cappuccino. Also, you cannot adjust your milk foam because the milk frother is fully automatic.

Jura E6 vs S8: Differences

In comparison to the E6, the Jura S8 is the superior performer. The Jura S8 wins 3–0 because it has a touchscreen display, more adjustable settings, and a large number of preset coffee drinks.

1. Coffee Flavor

The Winner: Jura S8

+ Grinder

A Professional Aroma Grinder comes with both coffee machines. The coffee beans are ground using a conical burr grinder, which crushes them in such a way as to preserve their original flavor. The grinding process makes heat, which is dispersed by the ceramic blades. Over-extraction of the coffee is prevented in this way.

Even though they both have the same grinder, I find that the grinder on the Jura S8 works quieter and better. The flavor of the coffee that was extracted from the S8 is likewise stronger and nuanced.

+ Programmability

On the Jura S8, you can set the strength of the coffee to 10 different levels. You can also set the brewing temperature to 3 different levels and the hot water temperature to 3 different levels.

On the other hand, the Jura E6 only has 8 setting levels for coffee strength and 2 setting levels for brewing temperature. And has the same number of setting levels for hot water temperature.

2. Milk System

The Winner: Jura S8

Both the S8 and the E6 have an automatic milk system with the Fine Foam technology. But there has a huge difference between these two. The S8’s milk system has more flexibility, more control over the E6. The S8’s frother has a small dial that lets you switch between frothing and steaming milk.

To some people, switching between frothed milk and streamed milk might not be important, but to me, this feature quite important and useful. I do like a latte cup that has not only a streamed milk but also milk foam on top. I can easily get this by turning the dial up and down on my Jura S8. Jura S8 can produce the best milk for a latte, cappuccino, latte macchiato, and flat white.

But this is not the case with the E6. The Jura E6 makes hot, creamy milk and milk foam for cappuccino. And that’s it! There is no option for lattes or other milk-based drinks.

3. Utilities

The Winner: Jura S8

+ Coffee Specialties

For such an expensive coffee maker, the Jura E6 doesn’t have as many specialty coffees as you might expect. For milk-based drinks, you can only get cappuccino. 7 coffee drink that Jura E6 offer are: Espresso, 2 Espresso, Coffee, 2 Coffee, Cappuccino, a portion of milk, and Hot water.

The S8 has more specialty coffees option. It has 15 drinks which include macchiato, café latte, cappuccino, flat white, and latte macchiato.

People who enjoy espresso and just want to drink a basic but flavorful drink like cappuccino or black coffee will find that the E6 is a nice choice. On the other hand, people who enjoy having a wider variety of coffee drinks, especially milk-based drinks will find that the S8 is a better option.

+ Interface

The Jura E6 has an intuitive user interface that is comprised of a TFT color display with buttons. It’s a bright screen with all the coffee icons laid out in front of you. You don’t need to look at the instructions to figure out what any symbol or number means. At any time of day or night, it can be easily accessed and utilized.

On the other hand, the Jura S8 has a color touchscreen display. Personally, I love that it looks great on any counter and it really kind of makes the process a lot more intuitive. because the machine really does paint a picture of each step of what you’re trying to do whether that’s preparing a drink or maintenance status. A simple tap of the finger is all that is required to program the coffee machine’s volume, strength, and temperature settings.

+ By-Pass Doser

With the help of a by-pass doser, you can use pre-ground coffee through a separate slot. So if you don’t have coffee beans, you can use pre-ground coffee instead to make coffee in the same way.

Since the E6 does not have a pre-ground coffee option, unlike the S8, which does, you are fairly restricted to the types of coffee that you can use with it. Since I like decaffeinated beverages, the Jura E6 is most likely not the best option for me.

The S8’s programmable levels of coffee strength can also be used with pre-ground coffee without any problems.

+ Smart Connect App

The Jura S8 allows you to download the Jura coffee app onto your phone, which you can then use to make your coffee. With the app, you can control everything about your coffee experience, from the volume of the brew to the type of drink, all from the convenience of your smartphone or tablet.

In contrast the E6 is not compatible with any Smart Connect app. The only way to control the machine is through the interface.

Therefore, the Jura S8 is the victor in terms of the convenience factor.

Jura E6 vs S8: Similarities

1. Capacity

Both machines have a bean hopper that can hold 280 grams of beans and a water tank that can hold 1.9 liters. The maximum amount of used coffee grounds that can be stored is 16 pucks. This figure is strictly enforced. This capacity for home espresso machines is both convenient and roomy.

2. Brewing Technolog

The Pulse Extraction Process and Thermoblock Heating are two of the top-tier features that Jura has created, and both the Jura E6 and the Jura S8 are able to take advantage of these characteristics. This assures that the extracted coffee, regardless of the beans that were used, will be smooth, aromatic, and well-balanced. The Thermoblock will keep the water at the ideal brewing temperature no matter how many coffee cups you brew in a day. This is a very important feature that make sure both the coffee and the milk stay at the perfect high temperature.

3. Cleaning & Maintenance

Cleaning process of both machines are quite the same. It is a really simple process; all that is required is to place a cleaning tablet inside of the filler funnel.

Using a CLEARYL smart water filter in your Jura E6 or Jura S8 can save you a lot of trouble with long-term maintenance. It removes any residues that can have an effect on the flavor of the coffee and prevents the buildup of limescale. This water filter connects to the smart water system using RFID, so the machine knows when it needs to be replaced.
