Mid-range super-automatic espresso machines are very sought after these days due to their high value and investable price. So check out my verdict of Saeco Xelsis vs Jura S8. These espresso machines offer the level of convenience users need while brewing delicious espresso.
Both are exceptional and potent on their own, but the Saeco Xelsis comes out on top when compared as a whole. It works harder so that you don’t have to in order to offer rich, steaming cups of espresso together with silky, creamy milk.
Although it has a slower touchscreen interface and fewer cleaning tips, the Jura S8 makes excellent coffee. Both provide outstanding coffee adaptations for a genuine and unmatched at-home experience. Read on to learn more about their distinctions.

Saeco Xelsis vs Jura S8: Differences
Saeco Xelsis wins 4-0 against Jura S8. It has a stronger espresso flavor, a better milk system, and a more responsive interface, among other pros. Check out how these machines work for me below!
Espresso flavor
Winner: Saeco Xelsis
Jura S8’s coffee flavor is very mellow compared to Saeco Xelsis. You will like this model if you are a fan of smooth and sweet espresso. But if you want a bold cup that keeps your battery going for the day, Saeco Xelsis is the one you should go with. All the flavor notes burst in my mouth with a strong authentic espresso scent, but it doesn’t taste bitter at all. The flavor performance of Saeco Xelsis excels Jura S8 by far.

As for the coffee crema, the pair does an equally good job. The layer sits on top of the espresso shots, giving them a good mouthfeel. You can’t miss Jura S8 and Saeco Xelsis if you love a good layer of crema.
Grinder
Winner: Saeco Xelsis
The Saeco Xelsis coffee grinder, a premium ceramic grinder, comes with 12 different grind settings. It instantly switches between fine and coarse coffee grounds. No matter how many cups you brew, it has quick grinding action and is quiet. To guarantee freshness and a well-balanced espresso flavor, the grinder also comes with a seal.
The 6-setting Aroma G3 grinder is a feature of the Jura S8. The benefit of having an AromaG3 grinder is that the operation is fast and effective, which results in even coffee ground. However, 6 settings are very limited compared to 12 of Saeco Xelsis. You will understand the difference if you adjust the grind size to alter the coffee strength organically. The grind size affects the flavor and strength of the espresso, which might make your beverage stronger or weaker.
Milk texture and other milk system’s features
Winner: Saeco Xelsis
First, the Saeco Xelsis has a glass flask for milk storage. This makes things easier since, unlike with the Jura S8, you don’t need to pour into a milk jug or other container. Accurate measurements on the side of the built-in milk frother allow you to know precisely how much milk to flow into it. There is no built-in milk frother on the Jura S8. Instead, it would help if you got their milk container, which also functions well.
The Saeco Xelsis also has a function called HygieSteam that automatically cleans the silicon tube and wand that link from the machine to the milk container. This is similar to a Turbo mode that uses hot steam to clean the milk frother and the hose automatically. Before you wish to make your next drink, it cleans in a matter of seconds.

However, the Jura S8’s hose needs to be manually taken out and left in soapy water overnight. There is no automation involved. So it could take a little longer, but the hose is thoroughly cleaned, allowing you to use it the following morning.
Touchscreen’s response
Winner: Saeco Xelsis
The touchscreens on both devices are big and simple to operate. However, the Saeco Xelsis is superior since it responds faster. In addition, its programmability does not have a delayed reaction, unlike the Jura S8.
The Jura S8 has little room between its features and is a little bulky. Therefore, there isn’t enough space on the screen for all the settings. The programmability may become slightly more delayed as a result.
Saeco Xelsis vs Jura S8: Similarities
Check out these similar features between Saeco Xelsis and Jura S8.
Number of programmable beverages
Both Saeco Xelsis and Jura S8 have 15 one-touch beverages that can be programmed according to your preference. The list of drinks includes:
- Jura S8: Ristretto, 2 × ristretto, espresso, 2 × espresso, coffee, 2 × coffee, espresso, macchiato, caffè latte, cappuccino, flat white, latte macchiato, portion of milk foam, portion of milk, hot water, hot water for green tea
- Saeco Xelsis: Espresso, coffee, flat white, espresso lungo, Americano, espresso ristretto, cappuccino, latte macchiato, caffee latte, ristretto, espresso doppio, caffe au lait, froth milk, warm milk, hot water
Adjustable spout height
Of course, we must take advantage of the adjustable spout height of modern espresso machines. With Saeco Xelsis, since there is only one distributary spout, it has a fixed cup clearance of 75-148mm (2.9 – 5.8 inches).
As for Jura Z8, since it has 2 distributary mouths, one for short cups of espresso or classic low-volume coffee and one for tall cappuccino, you need 2 variable cup clearances to keep in mind. The coffee spout’s clearance is 2.8 – 4.6 inches, and the cappuccino’s clearance is 4.4 – 6.1 inches.

Quick Rundown Of Saeco Xelsis
- Note: 1)Too coarse a grind, too little coffee, or insufficiently tamping the grounds before brewing can all lead to inadequate pressure for a proper brew. 2)It is important to note that the amount of espresso extracted will vary depending on the grind size and amount and reprogramming may be needed when the size and amount are adjusted. Please refer to user guide or user manual or user guide (provided below in PDF) before first use

I am Ralph Mason and I am a passionate coffee drinker. I worked as a barista for a few years and since 2012 I have been trying to convince as many people as possible of good coffee.
I started writing on the barista blog on RepublikCoffeeBar in 2018. It was a pure hobby site and I tested coffee products like coffee machines, beans, mug, and other accessories. After the first year, my blog is becoming a well-known coffee site with about 100 thousand visits per month.
In 2019 I decided to focus on RepublikCoffeeBar only. I became a full-time coffee blogger and was declared crazy by many.
