I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post. Read more

For the Jura C60 vs D6 competition in terms of a better coffee machine for daily use, the Jura D6 turns out to be the greater candidate.

I prefer the Jura D6 to the C60 due to its greater grinder performance and higher utility. The built-in grinder of Jura D6 is faster and quieter. This machine also provides the option of smart app connection, bringing a more pleasant and intuitive experience.

Though the Jura C60 does not have smart-app-connection compatibility, it has a bypass doser for using pre-ground coffee. The D6, on the other hand, does not have this feature. Therefore, if you want to use pre-ground coffee, the C60 is the one you should go for.

Jura C60 vs D6: Differences

After considering the differences between the Jura C60 vs D6, I found that the Jura D6 wins 3-1 against the Jura C60. The D6 provides a better experience of grinder operation, coffee taste, and utility. But, it is quite inferior in terms of dose control owing to the lack of a bypass doser.

Grinder

Winner: Jura D6

The JURA D6 includes a built-in AromaG2 grinder grinding your whole coffee beans perfectly, owing to a perfected cutting angle by Jura. The fineness of the coffee ground particles is also adjustable, allowing you to reach the perfect fineness of grinds. This contributes to the rich taste and excellent aroma of the coffee drink. Moreover, with the better grinder technology in the Jura D6, the grinding operation is relatively smooth and quiet, compared to that of the Jura C60.

Dose control

Winner: Jura C60

As mentioned, the Jura D6 does not have a bypass tube for using pre-ground coffee. However, the Jura C60 does have this part. Therefore, Jura C60 brings a greater dosing option for the user, enabling the use of whole beans and ground coffee.

The Jura D6 does not have a bypass doser, but it does include all of the preset coffee strength and volume selections available on the Jura C60 machine. As a result, if you don’t mind this shortcoming, the Jura D6 is still a good investment.

Coffee taste

Winner: Jura D6

The Jura D6 gives me the best possible strong coffee taste, which I find richer and more flavorful than the taste of coffee extraction from the Jura C60. As both machines are programmed with the same PEP (Pulse Extraction Process) technology and 4-level adjustable coffee intensity, the difference in coffee taste can be attributed to the grinder’s performance and quality.

As I demonstrated, the AromaG2 grinder in the Jura D6 is more precise and better than that in the Jura C60, the coffee fineness is more appropriate for specific drinks, creating greater aroma and flavor for the coffee and espresso extraction.

Utility

Winner: Jura D6

Smart app compatibility

Jura D6 optional Smart Connect

With the optional Smart Connect feature of the Jura D6,  you can control and program the brewing and cleaning processes from your smartphone and tablet. Moreover, the app interface is user-friendly and tells me what is happening and what to do to make a good cup of espresso and perform efficient cleaning cycles.

Jura C60 vs D6: Similarities

Single-boiler Thermoblock Heating System

Both devices operate with a single-boiler thermoblock heating system. Even though this single-boiler system is not as rapid or dynamic as a dual-boiler one, it still provides fast heat-up time while maintaining high and steady temperatures for espresso and milk throughout the brewing and steaming processes.

Capacity & Programmable Features

The Jura C60 and D6 have the same capacity for the bean container and water reservoir. Specifically, their water tanks are 64 oz and bean containers are 7 oz.

Besides, both machines allow you to quickly regulate the coffee strength by 4 levels, the brewing temperatures by four levels, and the coffee volumes from 0.5 oz to 8 oz. With these programmable features, you can easily change the coffee strength and dosage you desire in each cup. Additionally, you can prepare 1-2 servings of coffee at a time with the double espresso or coffee preset.
