Despite the fact that both espresso makers are incredible, only one is a fully automatic machine while the other is semi-automatic. Therefore, The Breville Oracle Touch defeated the Barista Pro by just a hair in this Breville Oracle Touch vs Barista Pro comparison. The reasons why the Breville Oracle Touch comes out on top is due to its classy design and automated features.
For beginners, intermediates, and every espresso lover out there, a super-automatic espresso maker is a must-have! As well as allowing you to adjust the intensity, temperature, and texture of your coffee, it gives you direct access to all the tools of the trade!
On the other hand, a nuanced espresso taste can only be achieved with the Barista Pro when it is programmed right from the beginning. In terms of the interface, it’s more intricate, and it might take a lot of time for new users to adjust to.

Breville Oracle Touch vs Barista Pro: Differences
When comparing the Breville Oracle Touch vs Barista Pro, the Oracle Touch wins 5 to 4. Thanks to its one-touch brewing technology, you’ll feel like a professional barista right away!
Brewing function
The Winner: Breville Oracle Touch
+ Bar pump system
Would you compare the Barista Pro’s 15 bar pump pressure to the Oracle Touch which uses a pump that puts out only 9 bars of pressure but uses a 15 bar pump for its coffee maker?
You may be surprised at how simple the answer is. For ground coffee to be infused with a balanced, strong flavor, 9 bars of pressure is optimal. This is where Oracle Touch outperforms most other homebrewers in my view.
Additionally, it allows you to maintain a better espresso flow cup after cup by optimizing the time required for pulling single and double shots.
As such, the Barista Pro’s pressure gauge is a crucial feature for those seeking greater control over their espresso extraction. Oracle Touch does not have a pressure gauge, so it is difficult to monitor the right pressure to get rich espresso consistently.
However, the Breville Oracle Touch still makes a greater espresso than the Barista Pro because of the pre-infusion technology and low pressure.
Interface
The Winner: Barista Pro
In spite of the fact that you get a touchscreen in the Oracle Touch, I will explain why the Barista Pro is better. Barista Pro comes with a dial that controls the grind size as well as an LCD display with buttons.
The touchscreen can be used to access everything on the Oracle Touch. With just a finger touch, you can adjust and pick your favorable temperature, grind size, steaming wand,… This machine appears to be more modern, but it does not replicate the authentic experience of a coffee barista.
It’s for you if you’re looking for a superb espresso shot along with precise control over the most important coffee variables. The buttons are made of stainless steel material which is durable. In addition, the display gives you all the necessary information so that you are not misled by any misinformation. In addition, the wide display makes it easy to read and navigate because the words are not cluttered.
Heating system
The Winner: Breville Oracle Touch
+ Temperature controls
The Dual Boiler in the Breville Oracle Touch is more versatile and allows faster performance than the ThermoJet system in the Barista Pro. By using a dual boiler system, you’ll always be able to make a delicious cup of coffee without wasting time.
As soon as you pull the espresso shot, take care not to let the espresso sit while you are frothing the milk, as it will turn stale. However, I’m sure that this must be done since I’ve never heard of anyone foaming the milk before brewing espresso.
It is not possible to brew and steam at the same time with heating elements like the Barista Pro’s ThermoJet heating system. That’s why Oracle Touch runs faster, lasts longer, and is more durable.
Due to its lightweight and portability, ThermoJet is a more portable option than dual boilers. However, Oracle Touch is my recommendation for quick and precise temperature control.
+ Heat-up time
With the Breville Oracle Touch, brewing and steaming take longer. This is due to the dual stainless steel boilers, which take a little while to heat up. It does, however, reduce the time between espressos and milk steaming, which is a nice bonus!
Unlike the Oracle Touch, the Barista Pro does not allow you to steam and brew simultaneously, but it does brew and froth quickly. Only 2-3 seconds are required to get the steam wand up and running, which is comparable to dual elements.
Utilities
The Winner: Breville Oracle Touch
+ Adjustability
With the Barista Pro, even though you have some control over it, you can programmably grind the coffee beans and steam the milk flexibly. The machine offers 30 settings for grind size and 5 temperatures to choose from. When you are ready to drink espresso, you can select the settings you want. There is a lot of directness, intuitiveness, and speed to its programming.
On the other hand, the Oracle Touch offers unparalleled customization options for coffee. With 5 café-style drinks at your disposal, you can select your preferred beverage. If you want some extra, changing grind, coffee strength, temperature, and milk texture or temperature will allow you to program a personal coffee drink. Then just save it and the machine will remember your preferences.
As a result, the Oracle Touch has a more easy-to-use interface and offers more features than Barista Pro. The Oracle takes the lead because there are no programmable coffee drinks.
+ Tamper
Using an Oracle Touch allows you to grind directly into the portafilter and tamp it automatically instead of manually. And pulling espresso is as simple as moving the portafilter to the right slot.
Magnetic and portable, Barista Pro’s tamper makes brewing easier. It takes a little practice to decide how much force to apply to your tapping. However, by using Oracle Touch, you can automate the process and take it out of your hands!
Capacity
The Winner: Barista Pro
The Barista Pro is the winner in this aspect. Despite being so multifunctional, it is still so light and portable. Unless your countertop is large enough to accommodate the larger water capacity and dual boilers of the Oracle Touch, you may find it difficult to use this machine.
Oracle Touch and Barista Pro differ by 17 ounces, which is the equivalent of 12-14 single espresso shots and 6-8 double espressos based on the 1-3 fluid ounces in an espresso shot. There were a few less if you counted the steam wand.
The Barista Pro’s small water reservoir capacity compensates for its lightweight portability. Refills are simple from the top/front of both espresso machines.
Steam wand
The Winner: Barista Pro
With the Oracle Touch, you can froth milk automatically, though it is not barista-quality. Besides, manual frothing is available on the Barista Pro, allowing for greater control and consistency.
However, you have to be more attentive to the steaming mechanism with manual steam wands. It doesn’t work the same as the Oracle Touch, so you can’t just turn it on and leave it alone. The finished result will be creamy, smooth, and richer than those extracted from the automatic steam wands.
Steam wands that are manually operated also take longer but the Barista Pro is the exception. Due to the greater power of this espresso machine, it allows you to steam milk easily and create perfect latte art faster.
Breville Oracle Touch vs Barista Pro: Similarities
In the spirit of full disclosure, both the Oracle Touch and Barista Pro are outstanding products! Though they differ greatly, they both provide excellent features.
The machines feature pre-set volume controls for one and two shots so that you don’t have to adjust the shot volume after setting them up.
The easy-to-use grind control requires no prior experience to operate. Whatever beans you grind, you will get precise and consistent results thanks to the grind size controls.
As a final feature, both espresso makers employ PID temperature control systems of the highest quality. While monitoring the water temperature, the puck pushes the hot water out in a gentle and smooth way. These things happen in a matter of seconds, but they never fail to produce an espresso taste that is both distinctive and pleasant.
