When I compared the Breville Barista Touch vs Barista Pro, the Breville Barista Touch came out on top. Breville Barista Touch offers many more features than the Barista Pro, including a more intuitive interface, automatic foam texture for milk, and Personalized Coffee Settings.
On the other hand, the runner-up, the Breville Barista Pro, has no drawbacks. There are a lot of features similar to the winner or nearly as good as those found on it. With its built-in grinder, steam wand, and innovative heating system, it’s perfect for beginners who want to make coffee at home in an easy and professional manner.

Breville Barista Touch vs Barista Pro: Differences
In addition to automating a number of features found in Barista Pro, Breville Barista Touch adds some other useful features. With a score of 4 – 2, the Barista Touch scored higher than the Pro in the following categories: design, steam wand, user interface, and customized coffee settings.
DESIGN
The Winner: Breville Barista Touch

If you are going to discuss Breville espresso machines, the aesthetic is key. Stainless steel design with multiple color options makes this a very attractive choice.
I think you will love the stylish matte black finish on the Barista Touch. On the other hand, there are a lot of exciting colors on the Barista Pro, but I especially like the stainless steel. It’s not only original but also sophisticated and durable.
With its excellent touchscreen display, the Touch looks even better. Simply from an aesthetic standpoint, it’s a great addition to any kitchen counter.
Although both espresso machines have a compact design, the Barista Touch’s body is wider in comparison to the Barista Pro. On those terms, in the meantime, the Barista Pro appears to have more body than the Touch. In other words, the Barista Pro is bulkier since its parts are thicker. But this isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
STEAM WAND
The Winner: Breville Barista Touch
In this regard, the Barista Touch outperforms the Barista Pro. In particular, I refer to the steam wand on the Touch, which is clearly more advanced than the one on the Barista Pro.
Featuring automatic micro-foam milk texturing, Breville Barista Touch helps you create latte art and produce great tasting espresso and milk-based beverages. This machine is totally hands-free, making it highly convenient for you to use.
On the other hand, on the Barista Pro, there is still a manual milk wand.
PRICE
The Winner: Breville Barista Pro

Both espresso machines are pricey for home use. They are, after all, high-end models, so we can think of them as big investments. There are still several hundred dollars’ difference between the Barista Touch and Pro, despite the fact that both are equipped with a grinder.
Its interactive touchscreen and preprogrammed recipes are among the reasons why the Barista Touch costs so much. However, for those who don’t care about these features and simply want to control their drinks, the Barista Pro is good enough.
COMPARING AESTHETIC
The Winner: Breville Barista Pro
My favorite design is the Barista Pro, but both would look great on a kitchen counter.
Each machine has an attractive appearance with its brushed stainless steel exterior. There is also the option of a matte black Touch. Though the Pro comes in a variety of colors, I prefer the version in brushed stainless steel. You can also select the beige one.
Overall, the design of these two devices is fairly similar: a compact appearance. When looking at how these machines might look on your counter, you should note that the Barista Touch is wider than it is deep, while the Barista Pro is deeper than it is wide. Generally, they don’t differ dramatically in size.
PERSONALIZED COFFEE SETTINGS
The Winner: Breville Barista Touch
Various features can now be accessed more intricately with the Barista Touch. Specifically, I am talking about the customizable coffee settings for coffee such as latte, flat white, Americano, etc. Depending on your selection, the machine will grind coffee to your liking.
You can find the right temperature, coffee strength, and milk texture by using the Barista Touch. There is also the option of creating up to eight different personalized coffees, each with an image and name of their own.
The Barista Pro does not have this feature.
INTERFACE
The Winner: Breville Barista Touch

Using a touch screen is the easiest way to browse settings and customize your coffee drink. As opposed to being added features for aesthetic reasons, I see the touch screen on the Breville Barista Touch as a useful feature that helps it function more efficiently than any other espresso machine I have used.
To talk about Barista Pro, you can see the details of the grind amount, temperature, shot, and grind size from its display screen. On the Pro, you can adjust the knobs to find the perfect espresso flavor for you.
Nonetheless, the things you’ll find lacking on the Barista Pro compared to the Barista Touch is its lack of touchscreen controls and pre-programmed functions.
Breville Barista Touch vs Barista Pro: Similarities
Why did I write about the similarities between Breville Barista Touch vs Barista Pro? Well, because both machines make it easy and quick to pull espresso shots. In addition, they have a compact design that is ideal for people who have a small counter space. There are a couple of things that these machines have in common.
THERMOJET TECHNOLOGY
In both of these amazing machines, Breville uses their signature ThermoJet technology. This heating system provides instant warming without causing any delay in getting the machine ready for use. As a matter of fact, the Breville Barista Pro is guaranteed to heat up in about 3 seconds. This also applies to steaming milk and pulling espresso.
The process of making a rich and creamy cup of coffee will take you only about 20-25 seconds from the moment you press the power button.
BURR GRINDER
Both Breville Barista Touch vs Barista Pro come with an integrated burr grinder. This feature allows you to choose how fine and how much you want the coffee grounds to be.
Hence, you can, in this way, prepare espresso in a way that reflects your sense of style. Moreover, these machines also allow you to experiment with the grind size and grind amount to obtain a more controlled extraction and brew

I am Ralph Mason and I am a passionate coffee drinker. I worked as a barista for a few years and since 2012 I have been trying to convince as many people as possible of good coffee.
I started writing on the barista blog on RepublikCoffeeBar in 2018. It was a pure hobby site and I tested coffee products like coffee machines, beans, mug, and other accessories. After the first year, my blog is becoming a well-known coffee site with about 100 thousand visits per month.
In 2019 I decided to focus on RepublikCoffeeBar only. I became a full-time coffee blogger and was declared crazy by many.
