The comparison between Jura We6 vs We8 based on performance, price, and convenience has been an interesting one. Jura We8 is my final winner after weighing all the differences.
With Jura We8, the brewing sessions are consistent, and the coffee flavor is robust. The temperature control is also much better on these models even though they share the same heating system. Moreover, the milk foam has a velvety texture and a pleasant mouthfeel. If you’re looking for a model with great value and price, then this is the model for you.
The runner-up Jura We6 has a big water tank and stable operation. Additionally, the WE6 is equipped with great features for brewing coffee, especially espresso, like the Aroma G3 grinder for maximum flavor extraction.

Jura We6 vs We8: Differences
Jura We8 wins 3 to 1 against Jura We6 thanks to its smooth coffee making, robust espresso flavor, and utilities. I am very satisfied with everything, and the cleaning part is very easy since the machine does most of the work for me. Check out for more details!
Coffee Flavor
The Winner: Jura We8
+Grinder
The grinders on both machines do an excellent job of delivering coffee evenly. Aroma G3 technology allows us to grind coffee finely or coarsely according to our preferences. As conical burr grinders, they maintain the most authentic coffee flavor. In my opinion, the coffee pucks discharged in the used container are smooth and even, so I am satisfied with their ground quality.
I want to talk a little bit about sound. Both We6 and We8 are quiet when grinding coffee beans, and it doesn’t take long to finish the step, only about 5 seconds. Although there is a slight hissing sound when I press the button to operate, but overall I am quite satisfied with the sound.
For a strong espresso drinker like me, I suggest you set the grinder to a higher setting, like 4 to 6. This will provide finer grounds and a richer coffee flavor. However, if you like balanced, aromatic, and slightly sweet espresso, you can set the grinder to medium.

+Dosing + tamping
Any Jura model will use a dosage of 5-16g, but personally I see each machine has a different way of working. First, the dosing and tamping are 100% automatic, all we have to do is hit a button, and We6 or We8 handle the rest. However, I have tested the flavor of their espressos by setting up the machines the same way and using the same beans.
With the We8, I felt a stronger and more bitter espresso flavor but still kept the overall balance. It’s hard to say good or bad because it depends on each person’s preferences. However, for me, I like the bitterness that makes the cup of coffee more nuanced. And for coffee drinkers who love a rich and mellow taste, the W8 is an optimal choice.
+Heating system
Jura We6 vs We8 uses the same Thermoblock heating system, which helps you not take too long to warm up. According to the manufacturer’s instructions, it only takes 1-2 minutes for the machine to be ready to dispense. However, based on experience, I think it is advisable to turn on the machine 15 minutes before brewing coffe to ensure the most ideal water temperature.
The Jura We6 heats up quickly but still takes about 10 minutes to reach the ideal coffee temperature, around 180F to 190F. With the We8, I think you should start the machine about 12 minutes prior to brewing time. However, I’m not concluding that a faster heater is better, just that the We6 takes less time to warm up. To judge the quality of coffee, I think there are many other features to explore.
Milk system
The Winner: Jura We8
With the We8, its frothing system can automatically create dry foam, which I find perfect for a cappuccino. It is possible to froth cream depending on the recipe, so there is no limitation in its milk system. What I like is the consistency. Cups after cups, Jura We8 gives well-steamed milk and milk foam. You can expect it to produce dry foam, which is essential for a good cappuccino or macchiato.
With Jura We6, it is a pity that it does not integrate the milk system. So if you want to own a perfect cup of cappuccino, you need to invest in a separate frother. It is for those reasons, I believe We8 completely wins by this convenience.
Choice of drinks
The Winner: Jura We8
Jura We8 wins by being pre-programmed with some of the most popular drinks from coffee to milk. This machine offers 12 specialty coffee drinks such as espresso, latte macchiato, flat white, ground coffee, hot water, etc. Those options will save you time customizing your daily regimen. Besides, you can choose to add a layer of foam or cream on top to your drink for added appeal. As for me, I love creative coffees and luckily We8 still offers room to customize coffee temperature, strength, and water volume easily with just a few buttons. Moreover, it allows me to save my drink settings for later. Therefore, I strongly recommend Jura We8 to coffee and flat white lovers.

We6 has a few one-touch recipes, and it’s not for users who like dairy drinks. However, it still has 8 specialties for you to choose from such as 2 × Ristretto, 2 × Espresso, 2 × Coffee and 2 × Special coffee. As a whole, it seems to be suitable for users who prefer basic traditional coffee.
Cleaning & Maintain
Tie
Both machines provide some 100% automatic cleaning options after we turn them on or off. A jet of hot water is pushed through the system to wash away what’s left in it. This ensures that the flavor of the next brew is authentic to the beans.
With other coffee machines, the milk and coffee systems need to be removed and rinsed separately. Self-rinsing is incorporated into the Jura We6 vs We8, which eliminates the hassle of doing it yourself.
I tested their cleaning by using a cleaning tablet and dropping it into the slots before grinding to thoroughly clean the incubation groups. Then I hít the deep clean option and let the Jura We8 and We6 handle the rest. I found that the automatic filtration system cleans the mix and leaves no milk or coffee residue that can damage the system in the long run.
Jura We6 vs We8: Similarities
user-Friendly & app
The Jura We6 and We8 have TFT color screens with buttons and a rotating watch face. The control panel is extremely user-friendly and efficient. From coffee customization to notifications about cleaning and frothing, it’s all right there for you to access.
Furthermore, the Smart Connect app allows you to access both espresso machines via your phone. You can now make adjustments with your phone, just like on social media. You don’t even have to walk up to your espresso maker to brew a cup. All you need is an espresso cup that understands the spout.
Big water tank
There is a large water tank 101 oz on both espresso machines. As a result of their size, they are perfect for home use. To access the tank, we don’t have to remove it or move the machine. You simply need to remove the lid on top and pour water inside. With espresso makers like these, refilling is no longer a hassle.

I am Ralph Mason and I am a passionate coffee drinker. I worked as a barista for a few years and since 2012 I have been trying to convince as many people as possible of good coffee.
I started writing on the barista blog on RepublikCoffeeBar in 2018. It was a pure hobby site and I tested coffee products like coffee machines, beans, mug, and other accessories. After the first year, my blog is becoming a well-known coffee site with about 100 thousand visits per month.
In 2019 I decided to focus on RepublikCoffeeBar only. I became a full-time coffee blogger and was declared crazy by many.
