It was challenging to decide whether to go with the Breville Duo Temp Pro Vs Bambino because I wanted the cheapest and fastest machine. As it turns out, I found that the Breville Duo Temp Pro makes coffee drinks just like a barista. It offers many of the same features as the Bambino, but the Duo Temp Pro has a few extra features that give it a slight advantage.
Breville Bambino makes it easy to froth milk and pull multiple espresso shots. An efficient pump system with a low-pressure 9 bar pump provides fast and efficient temperature control. Beginners will find this helpful. The Duo Temp Pro is more expensive, but its speed and performance are comparable.

Breville Duo Temp Pro Vs Bambino: Differences
Duo Temp Pro won 5 – 2 over the Bambino because of its low-pressure pre-infusion, stable heating system, and durable stainless steel design. Even a novice can quickly and easily make espresso since it is simple, direct, and consistent.
1. BAR PUMP SYSTEM
The Winner: Breville Bambino
The Duo Temp Pro and Bambino both employ low-pressure pre-infusion. However, the Duo Temp Pro uses an Italian pump mechanism that runs at 15 bars rather than the Bambino’s 9 bars. With a 9 bar pump, you can pull excellent espresso shots because it uses less pressure but extracts more flavor and body from your espresso.
Its compact and portable design favors up to 9 bar pump specifications which are also of great advantage when using the Bambino. Hence, this option would be the best available option for the beginner to learn how to make espresso without making any significant mistakes in terms of strength or volume.
Additionally, the 15 bar espresso machine is also a professional standard for barista grade espresso machines. The drawback is that it isn’t as efficient as the 9 bar at maintaining pressure in the proper range. A home espresso machine uses less pressure to achieve an optimal result. Boasting a simple 4-button interface, Bambino offers both a single shot and a double shot of espresso at a temperature of 200 degrees. For a better espresso taste and aroma, you can use all kinds of coffee.
2. WATER RESERVOIR
The Winner: Breville Duo Temp Pro
Many people prefer compact, lightweight housing with large water storage capacities. The Breville Duo Temp Pro (61 ounces) compared to the Bambino’s (47 ounces) makes the Duo Temp Pro a better competitor.
The Bambino small design means the water tank needs to be refilled regularly, disappointing. The water tanks are effortless to refill and clean on both espresso machines. Removing the water tanks is simple. The Duo Temp Pro comes with a handle that makes it easier to access.
3. SIZE
The Winner: Breville Bambino
I would like to address another point of difference between the Breville Duo Temp Pro and Bambino that I have observed. Their heights are nearly identical. One difference between the two is that the Duo Temp Pro is more expansive, so it takes up a bit more counter space.
Compared with the Bambino, the Duo Temp Pro is 2 inches wide/wider, while the height difference is less than an inch.
Bambino’s smaller size is why it occupies a lot less space and can be easily transported due to its easy mobility. If you want, you can place it at the dining table while brewing or on the kitchen island in the kitchen. You will then store it back in a cabinet or drawer for safekeeping.
There is no way to do that with the Duo Temp Pro. You can only do that from one fixed location. In general, however, the size of the brewer is perfect for a homebrewer who needs to use it every day.
4. HEATING SYSTEM
The Winner: Breville Duo Temp Pro
In the Breville Duo Temp Pro, a Thermocoil heating system is used with a stainless steel water tube to supply heat. Comparatively, this is longer lasting and more consistent than Bambino’s ThermoJet heating system.
However, distinguishing the Bambino is its speedy heating-up time of only 3 seconds. While the Duo Temp Pro does not offer a quicker heat-up, it does provide excellent surface heating and steaming temperatures with fast transitions. Compared to the ThermoJet, the Duo Temp Pro has more barista-grade features like automatic purge settings. They are also more durable than ThermoJet, which works fast but only for a limited time before your need to replace it!
5. STEAM WAND
The Winner: Breville Duo Temp Pro
With the Breville Duo Temp Pro, you can use the manual steam wand and set the steam purge settings. The auto-purge feature maintains and regulates temperature during brewing or steaming, so you do not lose time or temperature.
Though the steam wands of both espresso machines are manual, you can control the Duo Temp Pro steam wand easier than the Bambino. With manual temperature control, steam wands are simple to handle and easy to use. It allows you to control just the right amount of foam/texture.
As important as having a stainless steel pitcher, the Duo Temp Pro includes one, while the Bambino does not. You will have to purchase a stainless steel pitcher separately.
6. WATER FILTER
The Winner: Breville Duo Temp Pro
An espresso machine with a water filter is quite rare among affordable machines. But fortunately, this Breville Duo Temper Pro does offer one. A water filter holder and water filter are included in the water tank for longer-lasting performance.
If you want to avoid mineral deposits clogging up the Bambino, you will need to pay extra to have the water filter installed. You don’t need to lodge a water filter if you use filtered or RO water with the Bambino.
In this regard, the Duo Temp Pro is particularly pertinent since it offers a high-quality water filter that allows you to improve the taste of your espresso shots as well as the taste of the water.
7. PRESSURIZED VS NON-PRESSURIZED BASKETS
The Winner: Breville Duo Temp Pro
With the Duo Temp Pro, you can choose between a pressurized and non-pressurized portafilter basket. In the Bambino, there is only the option of using a pressurized portafilter. What distinguishes these two machines is how creative you wish to be when making espresso.
In comparison, the Bambino is much more straightforward and intuitively designed. However, if you are looking for a more nuanced taste and more control over your espresso, the Duo Temp Pro might be the best option for you.
In the Duo Temp Pro, you can choose between pressure-pressurized baskets and non-pressurized baskets to adjust the strength and shot volume of the espresso. You will still get the same strong espresso taste with the Bambino but without the customization of a non-pressurized basket. You can decide what’s convenient for you based on your preferences.
Breville Duo Temp Pro Vs Bambino: Similarities
Bambino and Duo Temp Pro are good options for home espresso brewing that provide an efficient and easy extraction process. These are beginner-friendly and affordable options for intimidated or confused by semi-automatic machines with too many variables.
They also share a few features, including Low-Pressure Pre-Infusion, Automatic and Manual Dose Controls, and a Hot Water Dispenser. In both machines, freshly ground coffee is brewed between 18g and 22g for a more robust flavor and aroma.
If you want a single or a double shot of espresso, you can control how much espresso is extracted! You can easily change the volume with the dial controls on the Duo Temp Pro and the two-volume buttons on the Bambino!
Additionally, both machines are equipped with hot water dispensers. Consequently, you don’t have to worry about warming the water in the oven to make Americanos.
