Breville Bambino vs Bambino Plus do not have any learning curve unless you choose the manual espresso mode. Either way, they both operate automatically at the same time and are easy to use. Steaming the right temperature milk and brewing espresso in the shortest amount of time.
When comparing the two espresso makers, the Breville Bambino Plus stands out as a top choice. The machine includes some advanced features, such as the integrated sensor, which automatically recognizes the basic principles of home espresso brewing. Ideal for amateur baristas who want less control but still wish to have a great coffee taste.
The Breville Bambino espresso machine is an entry-level model. Lattes or black coffee can be made using this appliance, but you may also switch to the manual setting for greater control.

Breville Bambino vs Bambino Plus: Differences
This Bambino Plus model features a sensor that provides users with temperature control that the Bambino doesn’t. Due to this, the Bambino Plus has an advantage because it eliminates the guesswork.
In comparison with its predecessor, the Breville Bambino, the Bambino Plus became the winner with a score of 6 – 2.
Brewing function
The winner: It’s a tie

My research suggests that an optimal set-up for an espresso machine at home requires an extraction range of 8-10 bars. However, the amount of coffee beans and grind size also play a significant role.
A 9 bar pump system makes it more effective because there are fewer variables you have to adjust before every shot. This takes away the complexity involved in using espresso machines at home for a beginner. Pump systems with a 9 bar pressure are easier to control and provide better, more consistent results.
In comparison to a 9 bar pump system, a 15 bar pump system is faster since it allows the shot to be heated up in a bit shorter amount of time. While your espresso might be brewed faster, you may not always be satisfied with the result because it may not be consistent.
Ideally, you should brew your espresso for 25 to 30 seconds. This means the Bambino which uses a pump system with 9 bar is better in terms of brewing pressure. Strong and rich espresso will always be made this way.
Despite the 15 bar pump pressure, the intelligent temperature sensor on the Bambino Plus produces good espresso. The temperature sensor is responsible for determining the flavor of espresso. Additionally, it features an auto-purge function which automatically cleans and resets the system, allowing you to brew another cup of coffee very quickly. The Bambino doesn’t have this level of restoration or speed.
Interface
The winner: Bambino Plus

With Breville’s Bambino, you can control the heating process and adjust certain aspects of each shot by using simple yet effective buttons. This model is equipped with one-touch buttons and flashing LED indicators. As a result, the user can easily see what the button does without being confused.
You can choose between single and double shot sizes, turn on the steam, or warm up the hot water using the buttons. There is no learning curve. The Breville Bambino is perfect for those who are looking for a classic design.
The Bambino Plus has five buttons instead of four, which makes it an upgrade over the original. This extra button is for adjusting the temperature. For the perfect creamy latte or cappuccino, you can also see the coffee temperature shown on the device and the density of the foam on the scale for measuring the thickness of the milk.
There is no difference in volumetric controls between the Breville Bambino vs Bambino Plus. However, the temperature sensor and foam light have been improved on the Bambino Plus, making it a more intuitive and accurate choice.
Drip Tray
The winner: It’s a tie
There is a durable and good-quality drip tray included in both the Bambino vs Bambino Plus. You’ll know when the drip tray overflows with the Bambino’s plastic red indicator tucked inside the drip tray.

If you use this machine every day, you will find this tiny thing extremely helpful. During use, the drip tray collects all of the excess espresso and hot water without letting them leak out.
Built well and solidly, the drip tray of the Bambino Plus is a good product. The two are almost identical in functionality and quality. Where the red indicator is located, however, is the only difference. Instead of being on the middle of the tray, as on the Bambino, it is on the left side of the Bambino Plus.
For best results, my recommendation is that remove the drip tray from the Bambino Plus after every three cups of coffee.
Design
The winner: Bambino Plus
This Breville Bambino features sturdy and high-quality design elements. Together, the drip tray, coffee filter, and steam wand make an excellent combination. Due to the compact size, there are no wobbles or awkwardnesses. I like how it’s quite sturdy and easy to clean. It heats up faster too.
Lightweight and portable, the Bambino and Bambino Plus are ideal product for home brewing. The Bambino, however, has a smaller water tank of 1.4L. Its top design is slimmer and finished in stainless steel.
On the other hand, there are 1.9 L of water in the Bambino Plus, and its sturdier top makes it more durable. Not only stainless steel, but you can choose from other finishes as well. Also, the Bambino Plus has a metal tamper that is more reliable than the plastic tamper found on the Bambino.
Tampers made of plastic work well, but they do not last as long as those made of metal.
In regards to the size of the water reservoir, the Bambino Plus does require more counter space because it is larger. Overall, this is a compact and easy-to-clean espresso machine.
Steam wand
The winner: Bambino Plus

Despite its basic setup, the Breville Bambino steam wand is fast and easy to use. Milk is frothed at the ideal temperature of 266 degrees Fahrenheit using a one-hole steam wand on this machine. As a result, coffee is hot and silky when it is blended with espresso.
With the Bambino Plus, you get the best of both worlds: a steam wand with three holes that gives you the best feel and response, and it heats milk to an ideal temperature immediately. That is the reason why in comparison to the Bambino, the Breville Plus steam wand is much better. For lattes and cappuccinos, it provides consistent steam with a quicker heating time.
It is true that both steam wands clean themselves automatically, but the Bambino Plus’ auto-purge feature enhances its efficiency, utility, and durability.
Additionally, with the option to adjust the steam temperature quickly, you can customize the density or lightness of the foam.
Warranty
The winner: Bambino Plus
The warranty period for the Bambino is one year, whereas the warranty period for the Bambino Plus is two years. Regardless of the warranty period, both are dependable and trustworthy. Providing you with years of hassle-free use for homebrewing!
Breville Bambino vs Bambino Plus : Similarities
Both Breville Bambino vs Bambino Plus have a brewing technology that is advantageous and faultless. Even though they take slightly different routes to produce espresso, the final result isn’t different: tasty, crema-infused, and flavored with the help of Breville’s PID technology and pre-infusion. Moreover, Breville uses a system called ThermoJet Heater, which keeps the coffee at a consistent temperature while brewing.
Moreover, a 54mm portafilter is included with both espresso machines, and the dose varies from 19 to 22 grams. With just a touch of a button, you can brew either single or double espresso instantly. Alternatively, you can manually adjust the shot pulling time by pressing down on the Bambino’s one or two espresso buttons.

I am Ralph Mason and I am a passionate coffee drinker. I worked as a barista for a few years and since 2012 I have been trying to convince as many people as possible of good coffee.
I started writing on the barista blog on RepublikCoffeeBar in 2018. It was a pure hobby site and I tested coffee products like coffee machines, beans, mug, and other accessories. After the first year, my blog is becoming a well-known coffee site with about 100 thousand visits per month.
In 2019 I decided to focus on RepublikCoffeeBar only. I became a full-time coffee blogger and was declared crazy by many.
