There is only one real victor in the contest in the battle of Nespresso Pixie vs Inissia: Pixie. Almost all the features I seek in capsule machines are there in this compact 6.8-pounds device.
Nespresso Pixie is known for espressos with a good balance of flavor. I love how quiet the brewing sessions are on this capsule machine, which makes my mornings less chaotic. This espresso machine is ideal if you want one that is reliable, cost-effective, and delicious.
Nespresso Inissia Breville, the runner-up, is quite competitive. It produces silky espressos with a wonderful crema. In general, the operation is stable. But I don’t like how loud the brewing sessions are. If you have young children at home, there may be better options than this one.

Nespresso Pixie vs Inissia: Differences
Delonghi Nespresso Pixie wins 2-0 and ties once against Breville Nespresso Inissia. Even though they can brew the same delicious espresso, Pixie is much quieter when it brews. The device also boasts a light indicator for an empty water tank.
Heating system
Tie
The Thermoblock heating system is utilized by both the Nespresso Pixie and Nespresso Inissia to swiftly and effectively heat the devices. So after less than a minute of waiting, you can have hot espresso.
According to their advertisements, Nespresso Pixie takes 30 seconds, and Nespresso Inissia takes 25 seconds to warm up. They only require that much time to prepare, and I have done as instructed. To ensure that my espressos are hot without first warming the cups, I prefer to leave them on for around 2 minutes.

Brewing technique
Winner: Delonghi Nespresso Pixie
The capsule’s most authentic flavor notes are extracted by both devices using a pump pressure of 19 bars. Then, they use a powerful burst of hot water to pierce the capsule and release the coffee grounds’ aroma, bitterness, and freshness.
Even though they use identical brewing methods and recipes, my opinion on the espresso is that the Nespresso Pixie Delonghi is more stable regarding the brewing process. However, flavor-wise, they are the same.
The Nespresso Pixie brews coffee more effectively and quietly. Rich in flavor and with a full-bodied mouthfeel. Its crema is also outstanding. It is a nice option for folks who prefer brewing basic espresso.
Although Nespresso Inissia Breville produces delicious espresso and lungo, it lacks the same punch as the earlier model.
Utilities
Winner: Delonghi Nespresso Pixie
There are only so many differences in the utilities of Pixie and Inissia. The biggest one is that Pixie is integrated with alert lights on the lining of its frame’s sides. The light will turn red whenever the water tank runs out of water when there isn’t enough resource to brew a single espresso.

Another convenient feature that the pair shares is the auto shut-off. The devices will automatically turn themselves off after 9 minutes of inactivity. If you are environmentally conscious like I do, you will appreciate this detail.
Nespresso Pixie vs Inissia: Similarities
Judging from the exterior aspect of the machines only, we can already tell that Pixie and Inissia share lots of similarities. There are 3 things I want to highlight here: the drip tray, the pump pressure, and the design of the devices. Check out my verdict below!
Foldable cup support
To accommodate taller cups, Pixie and Inissia must develop a feature that allows its cup clearance to vary more. This explains the foldable cup support. When you use a short cup for espresso, drop the support so that the cup stays closer to the distributary mouth. And when you want to brew into a taller glass, fold the support neatly to the machine’s frame.
Remember that the cup platform or cup support doesn’t act as a drip tray, so there is no reason for you t be afraid that it will flip the water out of the container. With that said, I heavily suggest placing Pixie or Inissia over a tray to avoid spilling and splashing, given that the machines don’t have an integrated drip tray.

19-bars pump pressure
With 19 bars of pump pressure, Nespresso Pixie and Inissia do a phenomenal job at delivering bold and authentic cups of Joe with full flavor notes. The texture of the drinks is divine as well. I can sense a good mouthfeel from them. And these are all the results of stable and potent pump pressure.
Exterior design
The exterior construction of the machines is the same. They share a very compact footprint with the same lever/ opener of the capsule compartment. The only different outer aspect I notice of the 2 is that Pixie is protected by a sheet of aluminum on its sides, which adds a bit more weight to the device. But overall, both Nespresso products look solid and durable.

I am Ralph Mason and I am a passionate coffee drinker. I worked as a barista for a few years and since 2012 I have been trying to convince as many people as possible of good coffee.
I started writing on the barista blog on RepublikCoffeeBar in 2018. It was a pure hobby site and I tested coffee products like coffee machines, beans, mug, and other accessories. After the first year, my blog is becoming a well-known coffee site with about 100 thousand visits per month.
In 2019 I decided to focus on RepublikCoffeeBar only. I became a full-time coffee blogger and was declared crazy by many.
