I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post. Read more

In the case of Nespresso Essenza Mini vs Lavazza Jolie, more expensive is definitely better. So, the winner of the round is undoubtfully Nespresso Essenza Mini. And here’s the reason!

The espresso extraction is extremely consistent on the Delonghi Nespresso Essenza Mini. With this gadget, I can make wonderful espresso with rich coffee crema. Of course, novice users will enjoy this model due to its straightforward mechanism. In addition, if you’re on a tight budget, I definitely suggest it because it’s considerably less expensive than frequenting coffee shops like Starbucks.

As for Lavazza Jolie, this model’s biggest flex is its extremely compact footprint and low price. Other than that, the device doesn’t boast much of a stable brewing experience. And it needs constant cleaning due to leaking as well.

Nespresso Essenza Mini vs Lavazza Jolie: Differences

Nespresso Essenza Mini wins 4-0 against Lavazza Jolie. Its espresso extraction is better, the heating time is faster, there is no leaking, and it flashes the descaling alert when the machine needs a deep cleaning. These are all the features the former has while the latter doesn’t.

Espresso extraction

Winner: Nespresso Essenza Mini

It’s unclear whether Lavazza Jolie uses 15 or 19 bars of pump pressure to extract espresso or other extracting technology. But I can describe its espresso flavor as balanced and mellow. So if you aren’t into dark coffee, Lavazza Jolie is suitable for you.

As for Nespresso Essenza Mini, its 19-bar pump definitely gives me rich and bold cups of coffee that keep me awake the entire day. Its crema is very thick and velvety as well. If you want a potent shot of espresso or a cup of bold coffee, Nespresso Essenza Mini is the one.

Heating element

Winner: Nespresso Essenza Mini

The Nespresso Essenza Mini uses a Thermoblock to heat the water so that I can have my coffee immediately. The water needs around 25 to 30 seconds to reach the proper temperature for brewing with Essenza Mini.

And instead of starting the brewing process right immediately when the equipment is ready, wait for the devices to warm up for 1-2 minutes if you want the cups to grow even hotter. Hotter espresso drinks don’t taste weak or washed down; they taste perfectly balanced.

As for Lavazza Jolie, since it employs a single boiler, it takes slightly longer to heat water. On average, it takes 35s to complete the priming cycle. But, like the Nespresso Essenza Mini, I suggest leaving it on a bit more to ensure the water is hot.

Water tank

Winner: Nespresso Essenza Mini

Regarding tank size, both devices are equipped with a 20.3 oz one. However, the reservoir actually lasts longer on Nespresso Essenza Mini, all because it doesn’t have a leaking problem. Lavazza Jolie, on the other hand, has trouble controlling the water flow. It leaks on my countertop and requires frequent refilling. And each time, I can’t refill too much because the load may cause the leaking to be more severe.

Descaling alert

Winner: Nespresso Essenza Mini

Nespresso Essenza Mini is the only one of the two that has this feature. Whenever the 2 buttons flash repeatedly, it means that the device needs descaling. We, as users, don’t have to keep up with the descaling schedule if we don’t want to, simply because the machine does it for us.

All you need to do is buy a pack of descale solution and press the brewing buttons for 7s until the lights start blinking. Then mix the descale solution with water in the water tank. Run the descaling process afterward. The entire process takes about 20 minutes only.

Quick Rundown Of Nespresso Essenza Mini
