Choosing the winner between Gaggia Brera vs Delonghi ESAM3300 Magnifica has been easy. Based on my research, the winner is the Delonghi Magnifica ESAM3300.
The Delonghi Magnifica has a 1.8L water tank that accommodates a pair of twin boilers, allowing you to brew strong espresso and create foamy milk simultaneously. There are also a lot of useful add-on features. In my opinion, users who have some prior familiarity with espresso machines should try this.
The Gaggia Brera, the runner-up, has an easy-to-use design that is great for novices. It can also make great coffee, and the heating process just takes 30s. However, compared to the type mentioned above, the water tank is considerably smaller and has other less useful characteristics.

Gaggia Brera vs Delonghi ESAM3300 Magnifica: Differences
Delonghi ESAM3300 Magnifica wins 4-0 and ties once against Gaggia Brera. It boasts a dual Thermoblock, a durable grinder, and a quick reheat system. You can find out how the pair works for me below and what I like and don’t like about each.
Heating system
Winner: Delonghi ESAM3300 Magnifica
Delonghi Magnifica comes with a dual Thermoblock. The temperature of the coffee will always be ideal thanks to a separate Thermoblock boiler used just for brewing. As a user, I can attest to the fact that I have never once had lukewarm coffee with this machine. A massive 60.8 oz water reservoir supports the ESAM3300’s heating system. Additionally, you may brew and froth simultaneously.
On the other hand, the Gaggia Brera just includes a single boiler and a modest-to-standard 40.6 oz water tank. It is not feasible to brew coffee and steam milk simultaneously with a single boiler.
Normally, I would advise against using a single boiler. However, I haven’t yet encountered any issues with the Gaggia Brera. Around 188 to 190°F is the optimal coffee temperature, and the steam wand performs admirably. Thus, I am happy with this one, especially considering its price.
Espresso Extraction
Winner: Delonghi ESAM3300 Magnifica
I can promise that, so far, the espresso pulling has been fairly consistent despite neither gadget having any unique brewing technology. I like the versatility of these 15-bar machines. I have been able to make some of the most fragrant coffee cups. Delonghi Magnifica and Gaggia Brera boast good value for the money because they are reasonably priced.
The primary merit of the Delonghi ESAM3300 is its rapid reheat feature. Thanks to this technology, we don’t have to wait for the machine to reheat the water so that we can brew cup after cup. I only have to wait around 10 seconds to start brewing again without experimenting significant temperature loss.
Grinder
Winner: Delonghi ESAM3300 Magnifica
The key distinction between the two is that the Delonghi Magnifica has a steel grinder with 13 settings, while the Gaggia Brera’s ceramic grinder has 5 settings only.
The good thing about Delonghi Magnifica’s grinder is that you won’t have to worry about upkeep or functionality using a steel grinder. In addition, steel is more impact-resistant and resilient than a ceramic grinders. But there is a catch here! With time, the wheel’s edge will lose its sharpness. Additionally, metals frequently become hotter when there is a lot of friction. A steel grinder, therefore, has a tendency to heat coffee beans.
As for Gaggia Brera, the ceramic grinder is the preferable option in terms of flavor because it keeps its edge over time and doesn’t heat the coffee beans. But if you choose Gaggia Brera, you must be extra cautious because ceramic can’t sustain a heavy hit.
Therefore, each grinder type has its pros and cons. It would be best if you considered the trade-off to determine the better grinder material.
Milk system
Winner: Delonghi ESAM3300 Magnifica
The dual Thermoblock supports the milk system of the Delonghi Magnifica. I can brew and froth simultaneously, and the pressure of the steam is incredible. You are aware that I’m not too fond of it when my machine doesn’t froth.
My personal experience has shown that Magnifica milk foam has a creamy, thick, and moist texture. This model is suggested if you like to drink macchiato, latte, flat white, or mocha.
Single boilers often lack the power to pressurize the steam wand once the appliance has finished brewing. I have, however, usually been appreciating the milk foam that the Gaggia Brera can froth.
Brera’s milk foam has an airy, slightly dry consistency. I suggest this model if you enjoy a cappuccino, latte, and latte macchiato.
Cleaning & Maintain
Tie
Both machines follow a very conventional cleaning procedure. After each usage, you must clean the milk wand and then run hot water through it to force any milk that was sucked up during the foaming process out.
Running hot water through the coffee brewing process is only a temporary solution. In order to thoroughly clean the machinery, you need to purchase the cleaning solution, combine it with the water in the water tank, and then run a thorough cleaning process with the mixture.
