Check out the debate between Nespresso Vertuoplus Breville vs Delonghi if you are after an optimal coffee maker at an affordable price. These automated coffee makers are very reasonably priced, and each function is designed for ease.

In reality, their similarities outweigh their differences, but I prefer the Nespresso Vertuoplus Breville due to certain distinctions in its design. I find its design to be sturdier and more long-lasting.

The Delonghi Nespresso Vertuo Plus is also certainly a worthy option to consider. It stands on equal footing with the Breville model, especially when it comes to the consistent quality of coffee they produce.

Nespresso VertuoPlus Breville vs DeLonghi: Differences

Nespresso Vertuoplus Breville won 1-0 and 1 tie against the Nespresso Vertuoplus Delonghi. Keep reading to get more details.

Flavor & Brewing Technology

The Winner: Tie

When it comes to coffee flavor, it’s the foremost factor I, and maybe you too, want to explore – whether there’s a distinction between the Nespresso Vertuoplus Breville and the Nespresso Vertuoplus Delonghi?

From what I’ve found, there’s no disparity in coffee quality between these two Nespresso machines. There’s no reason for them to be different since they use exactly the same brewing techniques. They both employ Nespresso’s centrifusion technologies, and use the same Nespresso pods, same pressure, brew ratio, and water temperature.

It all adds up to a consistently delightful Nespresso experience, regardless of whether you choose Breville or Delonghi. Their espresso is famous for its thick crema layer.

Design

The Winner: Nespresso Vertuoplus Breville

When deciding between the Breville and DeLonghi versions of the Nespresso VertuoPlus machines, it’s crucial to take into account their design and build quality.

Dimensions, Weight & Appearance

In the grand scheme of things, the aesthetics of the Nespresso VertuoPlus Breville and Nespresso VertuoPlus DeLonghi are remarkably alike, sharing the same design concept. Both machines are compact and incredibly lightweight.

Nevertheless, there is a slight difference in their appearance that serves as the most noticeable distinguishing factor between these two variants. It lies in the shape of the top. Breville models tend to feature a more rounded top design, whereas DeLonghi machines have a flatter top.

Apart from that, the overall aesthetics remain quite similar: both machines incorporate a cylindrical water tank and a used capsule container situated at the back. They share a common spout and drip tray design, etc.

When it comes to build quality, both machines exude a sense of sturdiness and craftsmanship. Although they are cheap, their components are not flimsy or wobbly at all.

In the case of the DeLonghi version, it predominantly employs high-quality plastic, complemented by some metal accents. The plastic used here is robust and enduring, ensuring long-term durability.

The Breville version is even more robust and durable thanks to combining metal and plastic components. Additionally, I feel it showcases a more refined finish. The seams or rough edges are almost invisible, further enhancing its premium feel.

Water tank

Another notable difference lies in the water tank size, which can be 60 oz or 40 oz, depending on the version you choose, VertuoPlus Deluxe or the regular model. Both DeLonghi and Breville offer these versions, and if it were my choice, I’d go for the Deluxe model for that added capacity.

Moreover, a standout feature of these machines is the rotating water reservoir, which offers the flexibility to position it on the right, left, or back of the Nespresso machine. It’s truly useful when dealing with limited counter space and simplifies the process of refilling the tank.

Nespresso VertuoPlus Breville vs Delonghi: Similarities

Extraction Technology

As previously mentioned, both Breville and Delonghi Nespresso Vertuoplus models employ the same extraction technology. They don’t rely on a traditional pressure pump for brewing like other machines. Instead, these machines utilize a unique technology known as Centrifusion technology.

The first step, these machines initiate by puncturing approximately 20 holes around the edge of the coffee pod. Following this, they inject water into the pod and then spin at a rapid 7,000 RPM. This unique approach not only ensures an even distribution of water but also helps create a luscious crema.

Additionally, there is no need for manual adjustments when preparing your beverages thanks to the advanced capsule scanning technology. This scans the unique barcodes on each capsule to automatically program the optimal temperature, rotational speed, flow rate, and precise contact time between water and coffee.

Automatic Shut-Off

Both machines include an automatic shut-off function that turns off itself after nine minutes of idleness, a valuable energy-saving feature.

I’ve found this feature to be a real money-saver on my electric bill because there have been occasions when I forgot to turn it off.

Head Functionality

Nespresso VertuoPlus automatically opens the lid by slightly pushing the lever

Both the Breville and DeLonghi iterations of the Nespresso VertuoPlus machines feature a motorized head that seamlessly opens and closes. Now, inserting a coffee pod is a breeze – a gentle push upward on the lever effortlessly lifts the top, revealing the pod slot. After inserting the pod, a simple downward tap of the lever closes the head. It is a remarkably convenient feature.
