Delonghi Nespresso Lattissima Pro vs Touch has been difficult for me to compare, given that they are both well-designed machines with standard functions at a low price. But, I have the answer now: Lattissima Pro is the better pick.

Delonghi Nespresso Lattissima Pro wins because it is built with an automatic brewing system, which makes it a great choice for beginners. There is nothing I have to complain about when it comes to cleaning this machine. I highly recommend this model to single users or those who live in small studios.

As for the runner-up, Delonghi Nespresso Lattissima Touch offers the same features as the previous winner, but with a simpler interface. The machine can brew six types of drinks automatically and has the same auto shut-off feature as the Lattissima Pro.

Delonghi Nespresso Lattissima Pro vs Touch: Differences

Delonghi Nespresso Lattissima Pro wins 3-1 against Lattissima Touch thanks to its consistent espresso extraction, smooth operation, and convenient utilities. In this post, I will explain how these machines work compared to how they are advertised.

Coffee Flavor

Tie

+ Heating System

Since both models use a Thermoblock system to heat water, I never have to wait long for my coffee. According to my experience, Thermoblock is able to heat water quickly, and the system itself is ideal for affordable and small espresso makers.

It took me a few minutes to count both the heat-up and brewing times. With Delonghi Nespresso Lattissima Pro, it takes me around 25 – 30 seconds in total to brew espresso. As for Delonghi Nespresso Lattissima Touch, it takes me approximately 55 to 60 seconds.

As for noise levels, both models keep it low throughout the entire process, from preparation to extraction.

Overall, I don’t notice any differences in heating performance. As for me, I prefer to drink steaming coffee, so I usually turn on the unit a few minutes in advance, resulting in hotter espressos with perfectly balanced flavors.

+ Brewing technique

With a 19-bar pump system, Delonghi Nespresso Lattissima Pro vs Touch extract coffee to perfection. Besides, the flavor is very similar: robust, balanced, and smooth. I don’t notice any strange smell or unpleasant notes in its flavor.

When it comes to texture, Delonghi Nespresso Lattissima Pro provides a more full-bodied consistency than Touch. But the smooth mouthfeel leaves a good impression. As a whole, I am satisfied with the stability and functionality of the brewing systems.

UTILITIES

The winner: Delonghi Nespresso Lattissima Pro

Both the Delonghi Nespresso Lattissima Pro vs Touch have quite a few useful features. But the Pro line still easily wins with the following two features.

Firstly, Delonghi Nespresso Lattissima Pro comes with a 2-tier drip tray that can be adjusted to suit different cup heights. In contrast, Delonghi Nespresso Lattissima Touch does not have this feature; you must remove the tray to slide a tall glass under the coffee spout.

In addition, the Lattissima Pro has a larger water tank that holds up to 43.9 ounces compared to the Lattissima Touch’s 30.4 ounces of water. In my opinion, a slightly larger tank is more convenient since we have to refill it less frequently. Moreover, I don’t have to change the used capsule container as often with Pro (15) compared to Touch (10). In conclusion, these devices are convenient and small.

Easy to use

The winner: Delonghi Nespresso Lattissima Pro

There are strengths and weaknesses to each model in this aspect, and I will explain them in more detail.

The Delonghi Nespresso Lattissima Touch has a compact design that fits perfectly on any kitchen counter. Plastic is the main material of this product, which is why it is so lightweight. However, I believe it is not environmentally friendly, it is easy to damage, and it gives off a feeling of uncertainty. As for the Lattissima Pro, I like that it has a brushed aluminum exterior that’s strong and looks sleek and modern. This makes it more durable and less prone to damage.

Let’s compare the display a bit more. Lattissima Pro offers more control over your coffee making than Lattissima Touch. The touch screen interface allows you to select the type of drink and access settings. The settings include options for setting the water hardness, emptying the liquid, checking the machine’s maintenance status, and adjusting the drink amount. It has a modern feel and is easy to use as a result.

As for the Lattissima Touch, it uses a push button; I appreciate that it is sometimes a bit difficult to use and has to be strong for the machine to receive the request. This is a weakness that causes it to be deducted in this section.

CLEANING & MAINTAIN

The winner: Delonghi Nespresso Lattissima Pro

You probably already know how easy it is to clean a capsule machine. I use cleaning capsules the same way use coffee capsules to clean Lattissima Touch and Lattissima Pro. To wash away any residual coffee and smell from the coffee path, the system brews soap and runs it through the coffee path.

However, I consider the Pro more convenient because when preparing any coffee drink containing milk, the “Clean” LED light will turn orange. You need to run the rinsing process and turn the froth regulator knob to “Clean”. It will start and end automatically when the cleaning process is complete.

While with Touch, you need to hold the button during the operation of the machine when you want to clean. In my testing, I found that it takes the machine at least 25 seconds to finish descaling; this is inconvenient.

To prevent mold or bacteria growth, I recommend cleaning the brew path once a week with cleaning capsules. Taking this step ensures that there will be no leftover coffee grounds to spoil the next cup.
