I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post. Read more

At high prices, I will compare the Breville Oracle Touch Vs Jura Z8, two famous espresso machines. Considering all the technical features, the Jura Z8 is the winner in terms of a great price and great value, while Breville Oracle Touch is a better choice.

Jura Z8 offers a diverse range of optimization options compared to other devices. You can brew 16 different drinks, adjust the brewing temperature more freely, and automatically use the milk system by simply touching the screen. Another notable feature is the American one-touch.

Users who like to use a milk jug “manually” will find Breville Oracle Touch conveniently with its capacity for warming cups and classic steam wand. The quality of the espresso is surprisingly good since it produces solid and creamy shots.

Breville Oracle Touch Vs Jura Z8: Differences

The Jura Z8 beats Breville Oracle Touch 3 – 2 due to its exceptional flavor, convenient beverage settings, and easy milk system when comparing the two coffee makers. Additionally, I love its one-touch coffee jug feature.

COFFEE FLAVOR: JURA Z8

+Grinder’s Features and Adjustability

Both the Jura Z8 and Breville Oracle Touch come with conical burrs and can be adjusted so that users can choose what size grind to use.

I have tested both models and found the Jura Z8 model to work consistently and provide level ground. Although the Breville grinder can offer the same evenness with the ground, I found that I had leftover beans on the grinding wheel, which can cause jams over time if this is a constant problem.

If you use slightly roasted beans, I recommend setting the grinder at a high level to grind the beans finely. You will thus get a stronger flavor from the extraction. Additionally, if you are using an electric grinder, be sure the coarser grind settings are selected for the beans.

+Dosing And Tamping

The Jura Z8 grinds, doses, and tamps coffee grounds automatically, so you just have to choose what you want to brew. You can adjust how much coffee ground is used, but the maximum dose is 60 grams. In this way, you can make coffee with a mellow and balanced taste or more robust coffee.

You can use an app to personalize the espresso machine’s brew setting, which is the most attractive feature. You can connect the app to this machine and adjust the coffee maker’s strength, water amount, temperature, and other settings. This will affect the taste of the coffee.

Depending on how you set the recipes, you can get nuanced espresso flavor and variable strength. This machine can pull thick cream, I’m sure of it. It is the perfect machine for those who enjoy creamy coffee.

On the Breville Oracle Touch, you get 22g of ground coffee automatically tamped into the portafilter after dosing, and the machine does automatically as well. With Oracle Touch, you truly get bean-to-cup coffee making. This way, you will get a nuanced, sweet, and balanced cup of coffee without having to control the grinding and brewing process.

+Heating system: Features and Stability

Both machines have their advantages and disadvantages in terms of their heating systems. Firstly, both have dual boilers, one for brewing and one for steaming, and both offer a variety of functions. Thus, they both perform well.

The Jura Z8 offers three brewing temperature settings to ensure you get the best results from your coffee beans.

However, it does not feature a high-end temperature control system, which should come as standard on machines that cost 3000 or even 4000 dollars. Even so, I have never had a problem with the temperature of coffee when using this machine. However, I cannot predict how long it will last.

Thanks to PID technology, the Breville Oracle Touch’s brewing temperature stays within a narrow range, between 195 and 205F, thanks to PID technology. Actually, you can set the heating temperature for the machine to begin brewing when it reaches that temperature.

With this machine, I have pulled roughly 100 shots of espresso, and I always manage to get the ideal temperature for espresso/coffee that I enjoy, which is about 195F.

MILK SYSTEM: JURA Z8

I have experience as a barista and appreciate both models’ milk systems.

You do not need to swirl the jug a lot to get the milk to be the desired texture. The Breville Oracle Touch comes with a traditional steam wand so that you can control the temperature of the milk manually. You can use it easily. The results have always been quite consistent when I steamed 120ml of milk for my 60ml espresso shot. That’s a good thing.

With the Jura Z8, the machine automatically steams and froths milk with its separate carafe, so you only have to choose your beverage, and the device will prepare it as you specify, including espresso, steamed milk, and milk foam as you select. I’ve been trying to make lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos the last few days, so far, everything is going well. There never seem to be any problems with the temperature of the milk.

CLEANING & MAINTAINING: BREVILLE ORACLE TOUCH

The cleaning system of Breville Oracle Touch

Clearly, Breville is winning this round since the milk system cleans itself automatically after working with the milk. If you have a Jura Z8, you will have to use a milk cleaning solution that you can purchase from Jura to clean the milk system.

I poured some solution into a tray, attached a milk nozzle to the tray, and followed the instructions. At this point, the machine began to purge the milk system, pushing out all of the impurities. Afterward, I had to wash the tray. It was not a pleasant experience since I had to pay more than the 4000$ I spent.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES: JURA Z8

+Number of One-touch Beverages

Jura Z8 is an excellent choice in this aspect due to its 16 preprogrammed beverages. We’re discussing latte, cappuccino, americano, ristretto, flat white, hot water at various degrees for tea, milk foam, macchiato, coffee jug, and so on.

On the other hand, the Breville model comes with a list of 5 preprogrammed beverages that enable us to efficiently make espresso, americano, flat white, latte, and cappuccino. The settings of the model are pretty satisfactory to me already, but in terms of performance, this model is unquestionably in second place compared to the Jura Z8.

+Warming Tray

Breville’s cup warming tray is an effective way to keep your drinks warm, so this makes it a winner in this regard. During this time, the boiler beneath the tray provides the necessary heat to warm up the cup, and it only takes about 2 or 3 minutes. If you leave for longer, it will become too hot, which is not comfortable to hold.

On the other hand, the Jura model does not come with a warming tray for your cup of coffee, which is a shame since the heating system on this device does not come with precision temperature control technology.

Z8 is usually a good temperature maker, but a cup warmer would have helped me feel more at ease if it didn’t have to worry about temperature fluctuations.

+Coffee Jug

Rarely can you find an espresso machine that can brew a giant coffee jug? The Jura Z8 is one of those rare machines. We can get a freshly brewed aromatic coffee in 40ozs with just one push of a button.

A tall jug will catch all the coffee with no problem since the machine’s spout’s height can be adjusted. The highest cup or jug compatible with the machine is 6 inches in height. The one-touch setting means I don’t have to wait too long or run between the kitchen and table when I have friends over to make coffee since I can do it in the kitchen or at the table.

DESIGN & MATERIAL: BREVILLE ORACLE TOUCH

Both machines have an excellent design, and the materials they are made from are pretty reliable, such as stainless steel or aluminum.

In the end, however, the Breville model wins since the entire body of this model is stainless steel. It imparts a durable feel to the device, and there is no doubt it will withstand a few crashes.

The Z8 brings a sleek and lightweight feel thanks to its aluminum design, which gives it a unique look and feel. The machine itself has these qualities; however, only the front and the top of the machine are made from these materials. This model is made up of sharp plastic on the back and sides, which is a bit disheartening.

It seems that most of us tend to keep these types of electronic devices in good shape, so I doubt there will be any significant problems. However, I would highly prefer that it be entirely made out of aluminum.

Breville Oracle Touch Vs Jura Z8: Similarities

Breville Oracle Touch Vs Jura Z8: Similarities

Breville Oracle Touch and Jura Z8 have many similarities that make them desirable products. You can count on their conical burr grinders and dual boilers for consistent operation and excellent coffee taste.

CONICAL BURR GRINDER

There are integrated conical burr grinders in the Breville Oracle Touch and Jura Z8, along with large bean hoppers on the Breville and Jura machines. The conical burrs of both grinders minimize the possibility of leftover ground in the grinding wheel and quality changes. Blade grinders have a shorter life than conical burr grinders.

DUAL BOILERS

Each model makes great use of the dual boilers found within them. Brewing differs from steaming since the steam system uses a different boiler from the brew group. The objective is to ensure that neither the temperature of the milk nor the temperature of the water will be too hot or too cool. The dual boiler does influence the temperature considerably. You can also steam milk while it is brewing, which is convenient.
